Can you die from lsd?

Is it possible to overdose and die only of ingesting high doses of lsd, not including hurting itself from the environment or going mentally insane. Like if you were in one of those padded mental hospital rooms and then die purely of the toxicity or side effects of lsd. or can you survive? like how weed is.

There are some people on here who are going to tell you that LSD has absolutely no toxicity.
LSD though does have a documented LD50 in animals - meaning there are doses that could kill. It's just that those doses are thousands of times higher than any dose used. So one would have to take a huge batch dose of pure LSD to have any risk of dying.
An LD50 for LSD of 46mg/kg was detected in rats. 46mg/kg, for a 150-pound human, would be a dose of approx. 3,129mg. No one would ever take a dose like that voluntarily! It's an absurd dose. And so, you can see that the doses that one would need to take to approach toxicity would be astronomical, but in concept it's not impossible.
There are reports of people taking large doses of LSD and being fine. This woman took a 55mg overdose of LSD - she blacked out, but was fine and ultimately felt relief of her physical problems.
There is a story I read on here of a famous acid maker, I think Prickard, who at one point fell into a batch of pure LSD that was over the LD50 dose, a lot of it. And he, apparently, turned out fine. I haven't been able to find the story again though. Maybe someone remembers.
