IDs as a Cube but found in Idaho?
    #2795934 - 06/15/04 05:23 PM (19 years, 8 months ago)

                      *note*
this pic. i got of the net as a cube but it looks exactly like what i have found)

a. Northern Idaho in a field (it's been raining heavily lately)
b. gills very close together
c. Cap 3 1/2 cm  Stem 6 cm
d. Stem is white fading to a yellow, not hollow, ringed near cap enlarged at  bottom like an egg but not quite so much like an animata
e. Cap is white yellow, smooth convexed
f. Spore print is chocolate brown
g. Doesn't really bruise
h. Smells nasty???

sorry if the descriptino is a little sketchy, first time.  It really resembles Psilocybe Cubensis but everywhere i checked says that it does not grow in my area!  Thx for whatever help i can get.

if it didn't bruise, then how can it ID as a Cube? Also, cubes tend to have hollow stems.

Hm, it sorta does look like a Psilocybe cubensis..
-We would need to see more pictures to be sure.
--A picture of the gills and the entire stem.
-The mushroom would have to exhibit some blue-staining, or at least a tint of blue..
-Is that horse or cow dung?

It does seem out of the ordinary for a Cube to be found in Idaho, but, certainly not Impossible.

The pic he has posted is a cube. He found the pic on the net just to show us what he thinks the shroom he has looks like. But from the description he gave, i dont think thats what he really found.

That description does not add up to psilocybin cubensis!

Doesn't bruise blue and has a doesn't have a purple brown spore print? It's not a cube.
