Doubting my Oyster spawn...

The 2 partially mixed jars were shaken a week ago and that was all I could get to break up. They have been fully colonized for weeks and I just haven't been able to get to them. Think there's still any hope?

Those definitely look pretty bad but oysters always surprise me. Make an outdoor straw bed and see what happens

I thought they looked pretty horrible too. They were the first jars I ever did and everything was off about em. I'm gonna put em outside and maybe thr myc survives the winter.

your grain spawn should break apart pretty easily & it shouldnโt be THAT thick. uncolonized spots are also another huge indication. good luck with the next batch my friend

Oyster mycelium gets pretty thick and damn near unbreakable when left to sit for too long. Iโve had jars that I forgot about that looked similar to yours. However, uncolonized stuff is obviously a worry. If it was me, Iโd trash those and make new ones.
