with the endless influx of grow kit nightmares to this forum i thought it was appropriate to start collecting them here for education, entertainment, and posterity
unfortunately it has been many years since i paid good money for my very own trich farm and i didnt take photos so i cant contribute but im confident others will pick up the slack
if you or a loved one has bought a mail-order biohazard you are not entitled to compensation but plz post pics here

I blame the banner ads. People come here to learn and see big flashing signs pushing premade bags and jars. Seems like the easier route when you have no experience.
Source: Been there done that.
Can't really blame the forum though. Sponsors keep the place alive.

I’m still working on my grow kit, but it’s already served it’s purpose. I absolutely wasn’t up for any additional work without seeing results. Injected my grow kit grains and seeing mycelium gave me hope. You guys place way too little weight on psychology. Ironic for a bunch of shroom farmers.😝

It's just a graveyard. We see lots of fails from folks with little money, some can be hardheaded. Having all those fails in one place, we can send them in the right direction

My shortcomings were my own fault. Sponsors only offer products and it is up to the consumer as how to use them. They are not in the business of getting their customer base to grow. The responsibility falls on the customer and what they want to do with it.
You didn't do your due diligence as a cultivator so it is the user's fault. They gave you the short cut you wanted. You just decided not to learn more about the hobby. Its the cost you pay for outsourcing the main vectors of contamination in the hobby.

I fell into that trap but because it took a while to ship, and I have nothing else to do, I ended up finding this site. I'll be able to use 100% of the stuff I bought but luckily read enough here before it showed up to switch gears and do PF Tek and that is coming along well so far. Had time to learn agar too.

I actually met a lad at a music festival this year who I made friends with and chatted about growing. He recently rang me about getting a kit so instead I sent him two jars of inoculated grain, one inoculated and four unused poured petris, a scalpel, blades, and spore prints/swabs. Told him to spend the money on a pc, which he did, sent him some teks, and told him about the shroomery, and he's about to build a sab. I felt it was a good way to give back to the community whilst growing it, and preventing the kit companies from ripping him off. I'm actually very proud of myself. All inactive species, of course...

Interestingly enough, I bought my grain bag and spore syringe from a forum sponsor without even knowing about the forum. I'm also not very paranoid (maybe naively so) and just called them to ask some questions on the phone. First thing they told me was to do PF Tek instead, lol.
I ended up not heeding their advice and got lucky, so no victim story here, but just wanted to share this, so sponsors don't get blamed. At that time I was still watching YouTube videos and of course they're not going to convince me otherwise over a phone call, but at least they tried. And how many people even call their vendor to ask questions about illegaly growing cubes, lol. That would be pretty stupid, right?
-------------------- New to growing and new to the forum, advanced at enjoying Appreciate all the input I can get. Willing to ask (possibly annoying) questions, but also good at taking shit. Thanks fam!

Well I freaked out and I sprayed the spots with alcohol because I didn’t want it to spread and thought sooner the better. Can someone please tell me where to go from here and what they see in there opinion.? The pics I have the spots are already sprayed with alcohol.
