I hope you get the pheno you're after. This fruit doesn't look like a typical nat so much so it'd be pretty great I think

Yours is spongey too??
My natal iso has the weirdest consistency I’ve ever seen. Once they’re dry they’re like packing peanuts or something.

The same clone for this indoor grow was also planted outdoors.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27975239#27975239
The outdoor grow produced a very thin overlay and is just starting to push mush.

i have a nat clone like this too!! super spongy at harvest & they literally feel like brittle foam after drying. it’s like powder on the inside it’s really weird
idk what your pheno looked like but here’s a pic of my clone tub

i probs waited slightly too long to harvest but nats seem to go forever. i don’t recall having to deal with many spores from this tub

It's very frustrating to hear "search through the thread" on the assumption that I didn't do that before posting. I scored the Internet, even listening to a 3+ hour interview with yoshi about the nat crossbreed he created and my heart sunk when the interviewer asked him "are they grown like cubes or are they grown like nats" without either of them explaining what the difference is. I even tried contacting yoshi and others.
I read at least 60% of the pages of this thread, over the first 80 pages of the thread and the last 80-90 pages of the thread before posting.
The vast majority of this thread does not apply to the information I have been looking for, and when it does apply it's usually from someone who was new to nats and still figuring things out. I'd like to think our common love for natural medicine makes us all allies and that others would like to help me in the same way that I've always wanted to help others.
I understand that many of you don't mind the overlay, but I'd like to know how to avoid it if at all possible. My friend doesn't want cake energy, and time, expended on overlay unless there's no choice in the matter. He is an amateur with only enough space for a couple small Tupperware containers just trying to find something less anxiety inducing than cubes to medicate himself in this crazy world and knows that it will be very hard to nail down dosage amounts with anything other than actual fruits.
Can you all please give feedback? What's needs to be done differently in comparison to cubes? Regular FAE a little extra fae or a lot of extra fae? temp/temps, harvest at veil break or no? Time to fruit after spawn to sub, and if cvg is ideal.
Also has anyone noticed that 3m is producing a tape that's far less breathable than it was a couple years ago? Because they most definitely are, if anyone has a leftover old roll and a new roll try to breath through both you'll be stunned at the difference

I've been growing them exactly like cubes.. and as far as I know, the overlay is genetic.. some cultures overlay heavily and some don't.

from a sub par grow, but was very challenging experience, taken fresh as tea. These went a good bit further than cubes at the dose and was back to functionable maybe a little quicker, 4ish hours.

Does anyone else enjoy the effects but not enjoy the growing? Maybe I've had bad culture luck but the overlay pretty much prevents a good pinset, I also get Trich often and what not. It's pretty frustrating.
Sorry for the unexpected confession

Just like Rotnpins said. Grow them like cubes and your genetics will determine your overlay. I didn't get much overlay. I had a few different phenos, so I don't even think you can judge overlay by phenotype either. I tried pseudocasing and no pseudocasing, poo, and different grain, spawn ratios, and all lacked a huge amount of overlay. Poo only gave a bit more bulk to the fruit. With that being said I really don't think spawn ratios, substrate or grain make a difference. Maybe temps which mine were 70f +/- 6 degrees f. So between 64 & 76f, but that is unconfirmed as I haven't tried the same grow parameters with a different set of genetics. Honestly I read through the thread but I followed what I wanted to do, that's part of the fun of it. They are forgiving, but will do what they want until you isolate how you see fit. Hopefully you get a good harvest.

Shit I dont like growing em or eating em, I know a ton of people love em but I prefer tripping on my APEs maybe if I had some sick genetics like DERRAYLD Id like them more though...

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It will take a couple of generations before Derrayld can stabilize the potent well-behaved phenos tho.

Have fun
22g wet ended up 2.5g cracker dry.
I've been low dosing JMF and PESA at a gram on band practice nights. 1g of these Nats was too much for that scenario. Zero OEVs but plenty of DMT like CEVs even at that low dosage. Come on was quick and just a little hairy. Warm and lovey. Rubber legs. I could have sat on the couch for a couple hours. This is going to require some more research...

Try a different print source maybe? I can't get overlay if I try. Do seem to get trich every now and then but I'm pretty sure it's my sab. Otherwise I get like 5-6 flushes, each one better than the last. First flush pinsets are always crap. But I've only worked with MS. I think the number of flushes I get makes up for the shitty pinsets though. They just keep going and going...
