Eventually the culture fruited in vitro on agar so I decided to fruit it on BRF cakes, I'm pretty sure it's P. subtropicalis, I looked back and did notice he was fruiting that species around the same time so it could be possible.
These are on BRF cakes cased with peat/perlite/gypsum pasteurised for two hours.

Hopefully some of you guys with experience with P. subtropicalis can confirm my suspicions?
It seems to fruit nicely from cased BRF cakes.
Semperviva for sure. Beautiful cake.

Couple more subtrop bottles, the 3 that are fruiting are coir based.
The still sealed bottles are straw based and were inoculated with colonized millet 5 days ago. Shaken at inoculation and 2 days later.

Melgo spores from you are moving really fast for me too. This is 6 days after spawning 1:3 to CV. About to case these, but if they knot up soon I would let them go without a casing.

Melgo, what a nice canopy in the jar! What's your casing mix, and what's the drill, case->spray some water now and then, or just wait? Thanks

One tub, thankfully the one with the least amount of pins and primordia has succumbed to infection, the other three are still kickin, tried to get a shot of one of them, it ainโt the best but pins are really starting to show, hoping they fill out more in the coming days. Noticed the center and central edges getting the most action which are the spots that tend to get the wettest so giving a lil more love to the drier areas, maybe try restricting airflow on one and see how that goes.

Thanks! It's a commercial cactus soil mix. Nothing fancy apart from the fact that there is no HPOO in this one. I could take a photo of the bag if you want the composition.
Drill is: Case. Lightly mist once a day. When pins appear, mist once a day but a bit more. When mushrooms are nicely developed mist heavy-ish twice a day so that caps don't curl up and spores drop quickly and heavily.
Edit: this what I do for printing Semp.

Cross post for additional context -- knowledge share.
MS and clone shoeboxes, 8 shown (11 total) all standard cube prep plus my favorite casing at 100%, favorite casing is coir/verm/charcoal/diatomaceous earth, applied at 100%, grain:spawn 1:3 -- all shoeboxes started pinning Day 30, when pins started I put each one in an ezDial mono for additional FAE and then went on a two week vacation.
Standard cube prep - coir/verm hot tap water sub prep, mixed at 1:3 grain:sub ratio, thin top layer of sub mix at spawn, no additional layer at 100%, pins at Day 30, clone culture (same as below), 66qt mono with modified ezDial hole setup
Standard cube prep plus casing at 100% - coir/verm hot tap water sub prep, mixed at 1:3 grain:sub ratio, thin top layer of sub mix at spawn, pasteurized peat casing at 100% colonization, pins at Day 30, clone culture, 66qt mono with modified ezDial hole setup
All agar wedges (MS and clone) were allowed to sit at room temp for about 6 weeks (lazy/neglect style) then A2G and then grain jars were allowed to sit for several days longer than standard cubes post 100% -- last photo is a great example of when I start to harvest, all the way to when they bend over and start turning colors.

Most of what you see already has a home to go to -- I'll have enough for myself after its all said and done. A lot of my friends love these and prefer them to other available alternatives. Nothing like being rewarded for 3 months worth of effort.
I got a wild print from another forum member from Xico, Mexico -- gonna run that one next and see how it behaves.

I've been toying with the idea (not a new one for these forums) of using charcoal in place of vermiculite. It's a bit more expensive, but since all of my spent substrates go into my garden/cover crop zones where I grow flowers for my honey bees and am actively building soil I don't mind pre-digesting the charcoal using mycelium right from the start and then use it as a soil amendment later. I can also source charcoal locally and don't have to rely on uline to get the volume of vermiculite I go through on a regular basis. It's a water reservoir and carbon source mostly -- I've seen some massive mushrooms (inactive) grown outdoors on charcoal fed beds.
DE is just a silica source -- I don't see much of a difference when I use it versus when I don't but it feels right so I go with it. Again, I'm always thinking about where the subs are going after I use up all the initial resources and my plants really appreciate all the additional amendments. Incidentally, that's human food grade DE not pool filter DE.

Yeah same here. At first they loved the pan cyans when I started giving them those instead of cubes. Then when I grew bispos that became the gold standard. Now it's Semps.

I can't stop looking at those tubs and shoeboxes, wow! It will be interesting to see what comes out of the wild print you got.
My first tub of these is just starting to knot I think!
