more energy was produced by the fusion than was put in by the lasers
Fusion power is the most promising candidate for clean power.
This is quite a breakthrough.

In 200 years the world will be run on plasma. If we get batteries figured out, fuel will become a nonissue.
We won’t live to see it, but it’s coming. The batteries are a bigger hurdle than the reactor, in my uneducated opinion.

Fucking sick.
Do you think there could really be a "golden age" in the future? I've often thought about this concept because of the hindu yuga ages. I've also read that the numbers are wrong and actually we're leaving the "dark age" right now or it's been "over" for a while.
One some level I believe with a change of the common perception of reality could realistic lead to something like this. At the same time it seems we don't live in a type of universe where things ever work out to be your ideal of it.

The world has run on plasma for all of human history - fire is plasma.

One might say, rad
I expect a fusion reactor revolution in the 2030s or 40s, birth of a multi quadrillion dollar industry.

This is an article from 2014...
