I inoculated 24 oat jars using two plates of clean P. Mexicana Galindoi mycelium. I made the mistake of leaving the lid off of the plate when doing all of the transfers, so I'm concerned that I may have some issues with contamination. Also, I'm afraid that 1/12th of an agar plate was too little to inoculate each jar with. I gave them a good shake to allow as many grains to contact the wedge, but that may not be enough to ensure fast colonization. Whatever happens, I'll do a mini-grow log and update you all on how they do.

We all will collectively see. I think that a lot of the jars will be okay.

Dude did you oil your agar or something? HOW is it now sticking to the glass
You are a wizard for sure

Edit: Or did you just drop and not shook the jars after?

The pic of the jars inside thee SAB was before they were shaken. I didn't have too much trouble with the agar sticking. Some got stuck to the top of the jar lid, but that was really it.

Badass, dude! I got some mex on agar about ready for grain too, I think. If you could update on colonization times that would be killer. No stress though, just curious what I should expect ha!

Nice, man! That's a good amount of jars. You shooting for fruits or sclerotia? Both?

Sclerotia. Way less of a pain to deal with, and it's a lot more discreet. It's also much less expensive since I don't need bulk substrate or tubs/fruiting chambers.

Cool! Last night, I spent some more time thinking about this, and I inoculated 12 more jars using two 100mmm agar plates, so 6 jars per plate. I wanted to compare how fast they colonize to see if it's worth using larger agar slices. It may be, it may not be.

Just giving an update at day 5. There looks to be an expected amount of colonization. Two of the jars are undoubtedly contaminated, but all others look fine.
