You'd probably want to mound up a bit of of sandy loam in a part of the pond and stick in it in there, that way it's only in shallow standing water and rooted in a saturated loam.

I'm Currently growing Lobelia Inflata this way.

I was under the impression that actual Blue Lotus (nymph.. caerulea...) was rather difficult to find and most commercially available Blue Flowered Nymph's are hybrids of another species, simply with blue flowers... Any one have any info regarding this?

Adam from Cielo herbals grows blue lotus in the US, I think quite successfully as well. From what I've heard some people regard his caerulea as more potent than the stuff from South Africa.

I smoked a good 5 g of blue lotus, It seems to calm you and make you peacefull. I found out it contains apomorphine or Aporphine, and white lotus was use to make painkiller in WWI according to iamshaman.com . I wonder if the apomorphine was given to the medics as morphine in the surret's? Or was it convereted to Morphine?

I'm pretty sure IAS has blue lotus seed pods. They are suppossed to be viable for like 100 years. I've read that once they actually germinate that the blue lotus and lilly are pretty hardy.

Here is another link about growing them...
http://www.hoerrnursery.com/GardenInfo/WATERGrowingLotus.cfm
found it pretty useful.

I had some trouble trying to get these things to germinate, I had the seeds soak for weeks and weeks and nothing, then about a week ago I took some the seeds I had been soaking and a couple new ones, then took a knife and cut through the shell a bit. I put the seeds in clay pots with regular soil covered with rocks and submerged them in my outdoor pond with some koi fish. I've now got 100% germination, and will probably have to take some of the seedlings and move them into new pots, as I didn't expect them all to germinate after all the trouble. I will note that the weather has been quite hot the past week (30-33*C) and probably helped in the germination.

I'm growing some sacred lotus but they aren't doing that great. Apparently they need different ferts than dry land plants. I need to find some pond ferts. I have a 16 gallon tub I picked up for $6. I put sand in the bottom but they seem to prefer to float around.

I don't use any ferts, but I have a couple Koi in my pond, and they shit and piss alot which is then broken down by bacteria and turned to nutrients for the lotus. My lotus are doing exceptionally well. Remember that they like a lot of sun too.
