How do you decide when it's time to water? 1 week seems like plenty long but it's all relative to the size of the plant and pot. There's a chance that you're still overwatering. Picking up the pot is the best way to judge if it's empty. I don't see any other signs of overwatering tho and the plant looks happy in that size pot. Maybe gnats were in the soil already and you just got unlucky.
Anyway, people here seem to like "mosquito bits". I think someone was able to rid their gnats with 1 application. Other options are continuing the tape, vacuum, sprinkling diatomaceous earth, or releasing predators. They're weak fliers so I've heard even just pointing a fan at the surface of the pot can make them regret being there.

Hey thanks Icon. It's in a 7 gal pot right now and I just pick it up from time to time to see what's goin on. The waterings are pretty minimal themselves also and I try stopping it before there's any draining out. I know a fan would be ideal in there, just don't have a small enough one atm I'd wanna use.
As for the mosquito bits and DE, is there any reason to avoid these if I'm trying to build a living soil? Like everything else, I see tons of info to sift thru around the webs, but anyone with experience here? Of course I would be extra modest in my applications, but is it any effective at that rate?

I'll let someone with experience answer about the bits and DE.
7gal surprised me. How old is the plant and how long has it been in the 7gal? When is flip?
I have a feeling overwatering was to blame at some point. 1 week between waterings is maybe too long now that I think about it. That's a sign that it's wet for at least a week. and dry for maybe a day.
My plants are about the same size as yours only in 3gal pots. I aim to water every other day. It's very noticeable when the pot is empty, and also after watering fully. Reducing watering amount is not the right way to avoid this. It's what you gotta do now, but if you're watering minimally and it's still taking a week, that's a sign to me there's some pockets of soil that aren't rooted yet and are likely staying wet week-to-week. You should be able to drench and get to bone dry wilting in under a week.
I'd recommend smaller increments in the pot sizes so the rooted volume is always greater than 50% of the total pot's volume. Then you can water as hard as you want and should be, saturating it without having to worry about it drinking in time or evenly. Sorry I know you weren't asking what we think about the pot size I just like to volunteer suggestions.

no reason for apologies, that's a good suggestion I'll follow from now on.
Not certain on the age, she's a cutting from another garden that came here in a 1 gal and has been in the 7 for 2 weeks now....
I don't exactly have a flower schedule yet either, just kinda playing around.

Stealth isn't a huge concern for me, but it is a slight concern. I have nosey parents and in-laws who are over once in a while and they would not approve. It has led to a couple of close calls where my setup was out and may have been seen or smelled. I found this perfect spot in my garage to hide it. So now when they come over I wont be scrambling to hide it behind piles of junk

And here's the laughing budha strain I am growing. 10 days into flower.

What do you use to make that rosin? I want to try my hand at making concentrates this year. I was thinking of getting the proper purge equipment to make small batch shatter for my first time. Would you recommend a different method for first time? Keep in mind I have very good safety practices when working with dangerous things.

So this morning I discovered that vaping hash seems to be WAY stronger than hitting it out of a pipe. Like 6 months ago I made some fresh frozen from c99, left my pipe in the other room so I just threw a piece into the Dab rig.
May have had some Laos mixed in, whatever the case it was very psychedelic. Felt more like mushrooms than weed.
nice! have some c99 outdoors and solid few weeks to go hopefully can get close to finish even in cold nights. but dam its STRAIGHT juicy fruit bubblegum. prob where teh juicy fruit from sensi came from. dont get teh pineapple as they say but is yum! can imagine fresh frozen would be super tasty.

I got the 10 ton dabpress with 3x5 plates … it was a little under 500 bucks. Yeah bro, get you one! Mine paid for itself in a month easy! I just smashed it at 180f low and slow….and cured in the fridge for a week…
If your planing on smashing flowers a lot more than bubble hash then maybe think about getting the 4x7 plates…

I got a question for you guys, I have two plants I am pretty certain are the same strain but I got them as the Runtz and Wedding Cake. Which one you guys think they are really are? Lineages aren’t that close from what i see, i thinking their the Runtz Wedding Cake

Runtz

lol impossibe for anyone to say from a picture. they have similar genetic backrounds esp if were from seed very much will get "ogkush/cookies" smells. if later in flower one smells a it more like grapfruit/fruity that would be the runtz but again will likely. have pretty similar structure do to OG polyhybrid nature.

Here is my 2x4 plants Apple cider kush

Gorilla cookies auto cross

The apple cider was so young when she went 12/12. Both plants of apple cider (#1 in 2x4 & #2 in 4x4) are taking longer to flower than the other plants. Than all the other plants.

Definitely brother. It’s hilarious/ sad seeing posts on the weed forms I’m on where guy’s are pissed they spent so much on bho and co2 extraction setups… they can still process mass product way faster though.
I still like live badder and stuff but rosin and live rosin are just really delicious. And you don’t have to worry about residual solvents still in your dabs…
I guess it comes down to preference at the end though…
There’s some really nice presses out for great deals. Think about it if you make 20 grams of oil for yourself you just paid for it…
