Damn don't get me started. Was supposed to receive a new dehydrator today. Apparently it was never shipped and Amazon refunded me. Now I'll have to borrow my brothers but he's gonna ask questions I don't want to answer and I try to never lie so

Itβs because Mercury is in Gatorade right now.

Nice! I have a batch of SSLC going with some pe. I love how things stay suspended in it. (Mine is a little extra thick due to excess evaporation during PC)
But the myc is growing well in it, and the air bubble when I stir stay suspended giving tons of surface area for the myc.

Here is my "new tool" for my sab

Pardon the dumbness but what exactly is semi-solid liquid culture? I've seen it mentioned very few times and would like to know how you do it and the advantages. LC is my next adventure so doing the legwork on it now.

So far I havenβt been super impressed with LC in general. The added moisture, the bottom colonizing first, and the extra steps needed to create it havenβt been worth the effort. If the SSLC performs better I may continue using it, but a dime sized agar wedge straight to grain followed by g2g transfers has been quick and super easy.

Same.
Plus, if youβre not running clones that you know to be productive, thereβs not enough benefit to LCβs to go through the steps. Once you have a tested clone you like, then an SSLC might make sense. It has a couple advantages for Muda-bottle grows, large grain bags.
Personally, I prefer small grows though, especially when cultures are still in testing. So A2G β> G2G just makes sense all day.

Thatβs a good point about the Muda bottles. I have 5 Muda bottles going atm and theyβre all inoculated with LC. It has done way way better in there than on grains. Much more even distribution, likely owed to the coir.

Sheeeiiiit partner, really? I started using LC as soon as I started cult and Iβve gotta say, itβs the only method I use for expansion! Got a good culture on agar? Throw it to LC! Just got a new strain/genetic? Sheeeiit boy, get a clean transfer and throw it in an LC!
Thatβs just my personal journey but if youβre confident in your sterile technique and have something you wanna expand then LC is just a no brainer!

I can understand that. I wasn't impressed with LME LC.
I think the value depends on how many grows and the time lines. LC can let you start weekly grains or bags on a schedule. 1 batch of LC can do a jar a week for a year.
I have 2 LC jars I started on the same day. LME and CM (corn meal).
The CM is top to bottom Mycelium.
The LME is maybe 1/3 mycelium.
Prep was easy. 10g of CM in the bottom of the jar, add 500ml water, PC.
I innoced with 2 syringe needle tips of myc with a syring with sterilized water.
I am also testing a SSLC. I can see the myc suspended in it. Time will tell if it gets as myc thick as the CM LC.

I agree and it's all I do. Now instead of g2g to jars it's even easier just to do 4qt bags with the Always Be Baggin tek thread. Less movements, less surfaces, less actions, can fit twice as much grain into one PC run. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a couple thousand bags of two diff sizes and eliminate grain jars all together.

Any of the top 10 results for "food dehydrator" work. Can't go wrong with presto, there's a small model for $55 - some good other options for less than $70. But skip the $40 ones, they're all the same model and have been known to catch on fire.
