nice pinset!! natalensis grow A LOT after their veil breaks. , I'd say they often double in size and volume. wishing you a good harvest!
Thanks! Funny you should say that, I was just looking at my tub like, fuck, the veils have already broken. These are gunna be tiny!

To be honest, I'm hoping it's just Nats being Nats Ha!
This is the only Nat grain that I got going. I have plates still, so worse case scenario I'll just have to get another jar going. The plate that the wedge came from looks clean still, so if there is something funky in that jar, it's the result of poor grain prep, I think. Kind of a bummer if so, because I was thinking the grain looks well done.
I wanna say it's been like 10 days or so since I dropped the wedge. I wrote the date with sharpie pen, but it rubbed off

I hope to be sharing some fruiting/harvest pics soon, but right now I got a jar going that I could really use some insight on.
First, does the myc look right?

Compared to cozmyc's jar in the post above, the 'celium in my jar looks real wispy, yeah?
Is that normal?
Second question is, would you guys say it's ready for a shake? Or, due to the wispy nature, should I give it more time?
Final side-question, does everyone else also somehow get multiple "inoculation points" from a single, relatively small, wedge?
Actually, one more question, could I get the winning numbers for the next mega millions drawing? Only kidding, of course, but that's what I feel like asking all these questions of you guys. Like, "hey, you guys wanna serve me the world on a golden platter?", and for that I apologize.
It looks really wispy for Nat myc imhm, shake it see how quickly it recovers.
Regarding multiple inoc points from one wedge: I like to have the wedge against the jar facing inward. To do this it sometimes takes a lot of shaking. When this happens I do get loads of leap off points.

The myc is wispier from the unintended inoc points, so....
Interesting...
I was actually intending to do the same (get the wedge against the jar) because I like being able to see the wedge growth. When I was shaking the jar around to get the wedge into position, I lost track of it and decided to let it be. Perhaps the myc that I'm seeing is also wispier due to the inoc' points
Beautiful jar, by the way!

Konbri said: I did a lot of nats on proso millet, and sometimes it would be pretty wispy, but then it would send big rhizo gyphae here and there. I believe it's due to the hard shell of the grain. I don't shake when it's as colonized as yours, and I'm not a fan of shaking in general. Btw, all ms spawn was rhizomorphic, and only clones sometimes would be wispy.
Perhaps that's another explanation for my jar?
Though it's not a technical clone, it is 'nocced up with a wedge from a T3 that was originally started with a plate pin.
Is that considered a clone (starting with a plate pin)?

Very cool, Myc Hunt... looks a lot like mine. This has been my best tub so far. I harvested it this morning. I guess you'll be harvesting yours this weekend if not sooner. Good for you, man!

Think I’m gunna harvest these bad boys as they’ve started spunking their satanic spawn! Really happy with how these turned out! Been trying to cultivate these bad boys on and off since LAGM. Had no luck on 3 or 4 tries then got a bomb ass print and BOOM!

Lol, from a thumbnail perspective I saw legs. I thought it was you sitting with fruits on your crotch, "now, that's a trouser snake", I thought... Maybe my brain didn't yet recover from tripping yesterday, sorry.
