bulk substrate left for 6 weeks will it be OK

Hello everyone at shroomery
I have been growing on a small scale using shoe box tech for over a year now and been quite successful using all the guides on this site. Thank you
I have one problem that I need some help with.
My mum became ill about 6 weeks ago and I had to leave pretty fast.
So, in a rush I quickly put my prepared bulk substrate and colonised rye spawn in the only boxes I had available.
I had made enough substrate for 4 shoe boxes and didn't have time to go and buy more so there is double the depth/amount I usually put in each box.
I returned just 2 days ago and the substrates do not look at all like my other shoe boxes.
I removed these from their shoe boxes immediately, turned each box upside down and tapped out the blocks and put them in my shotgun chamber which is what I usually do. They smell beautiful and are soft but firm.
The mycelium looks very flat as they have been in the shoe box for far too long. The boxes usually take 12-15 days to mature when the depth is about 8cm but these ones are 12cm deep and have been left for 6 weeks.
My questions?
can I still proceed as usual and wait for fruiting.
Will the mycelium recover after such a long time colonising?
Is it damaged beyond saving?
The mushrooms are Penis Envy A+.
Many Thanks
Pacmaninov

I would think continue with business as usual.
Call it your "consolodation" phase lol.
They are some pretty looking bricks. Might be able to build with them when you finish fruiting.

It is possible they haven't fruited because they ran out of water?
If your answer is yes, dunk em

A nice bath should hopefully wake them up. All that extra time is going to use up a good bit of water.

Thank you Rusty2096
They were in sealed boxes. the boxes still had water droplets on the lid and sides
I will consider dunking them

Thank you to everyone who replied
I love this forum. you lot are so helpful
I will give them a week to see how they progress. I will then consider dunking.
I do dunk after the first flush and then return the blocks to the shotgun chamber
I love a bit a humour If all else fails I could indeed build a new house with them.

Here is an update after 11 days.
I soaked the both blocks in their tubs for 4 hours. I then scraped all sides with a fork about 1/4 inch depth to release the thick mycelium. I put back into fruiting chamber SGF. The mycelium started to knit back together. waited 11 days. They were ready a few days ago but I have been too busy to harvest.
As you can see I have had some success with these blocks see photo.

I thought they were a failure but have a nice yield
The mushrooms are much smaller than the usual very fat ones I get, see photo

Thank you everyone for all your help
