MHRB legality questions (US)

First off, I'd like to apologize for a rookie mistake.. I posted this question about a week ago and deleted it before anyone replied, thinking that I had found the answer.. sorry to anyone in the future, if the deleted post still shows up when searching and causes irritation
Does anyone know the current legality of ordering or possessing Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark in the US? I've seen various conflicting reports when searching the forums as well as other sources...
Most cases that I have found where there were any issues were due to customs inspecting and seizing a package, or bulk orders popping up on someone's radar... does anyone know of any cases where a package of MHRB was seized even though it was from a local vendor that did not go through customs? Are there any issues when ordering to use for dye and not for other reasons?
Also, I read an older thread that said they believed MHRB was about to become a restricted item and that Acacia Confusa Root Bark was a possible alternative.. is this still the case?

Theres a good deal of debate on this one. People tend to have polarizing views and little in the way of concrete answers.
There are two camps. On one side you have people who will argue until they are blue in the face that being sold with a not for human consumption label or natural dye makes it legal. The other camp says there is no way that will hold up in court and it could be considered illegal because it contains DMT.
I am not going to discredit the other side, because i have not had any legal issues to conrirm or deny it, but i don't think that NFHC or dye label is protecting anybody with as much as a jimi hendrix poster in their room, because the psychedelic poster is enough to show intent and character in court. Seems to me that the labeling is a decoy for customs more than anything. I believe that they would probably prosecute and call the MHRB a 'container' for the DMT.
What i have seen the last 10 years or so using the stuff is that domestic sales almost never get busted. International happens often enough. The rare case where a domestic order gets caught will probably be because somebody told too many people, sold DMT to half the state, or got caught up because of something else.
In my opinion, MHRB is illegal but it's not really enforced once it passes customs. I have not had any issues in 10 years. Proceed with caution. Do your research and be smart and you will probably be fine.
I won't say i haven't had my fair share of paranoid episodes related to orders or extractions though. I definitely cleaned house for what turned out to be no reason many times.

Thank you.. that's kinda the mindset that I was leaning towards.
It's always good to do the research and consider all viewpoints from multiple sources before making any assumptions..
I completely agree that the risk factor multiplies exponentially when sharing information or when sales are involved. I would only be interested in enough for personal use, so hopefully that would be a factor to consider when analyzing my risk level..
I've considered trying to grow some desmanthus illinoensis, since I've already got some seeds.. but my research hasn't found many promising examples of successful indoor grows, and I don't want to go into it blind, using trial and error, without a TEK to follow.. plus I found one source saying that it was a waste of time due to the time it took them to grow and the low DMT content compared to MHRB

MHRB is illegal because it contains DMT - it has the same legality in the US as pure DMT powder. There have been some busts in recent years - all of them were at customs, domestic ordering should be reasonably safe.
