I am thinking of using cow poo,but the poo i have seen in a large pile in a field in the very rainy uk is full of straw (i would say 30/40% straw). would this be ok as i can only find info on dryed dung ,so i am thinking of adding some verm to utilize the water that is in the dung and sterrilizing in the pressure cooker, what do you think ok or not ?.why should you passtureize(?) rather than sterrilize?

I would trust microwaving cow dung... if using it in small amounts.

Yea ! bse shrooms!!! there mad!(lol)
I'v heard that the uk is getting a lot of bad press on your side of the water, but in reallity there is'nt much different unless your a farmer or from a community that relies on farming, appart from footpaths over farmland are closed.for most of the population its the same old shit.
Any how the foot and mouth dieses will be killed if i sterilize it in the pressure cooker.Wo'nt it ?.

Hi Prellgot,
I was also wondering some month ago about priones in cow dung. Maybe a small research group would be interesting (maybe a method to explain the executive power that you are cultivating psychotomimmetic mushrooms). But like many times there is maybe a plausible explain. If the priones (BSE) could be spread through the cow pies, then a much bigger infection rate should be expected, like with scrappy on sheeps. All european countries, besides England and North Ireland, had only one or two BSE cases per herd. Would it be possible to transmit it through cow pies, then a much more animals should be infected (>50%). It is possible that the use of a special medicament against a small fly larve is responsible for the big BSE outbrakes. This medicament was used in England and North Ireland in a four times bigger concentration rthan in the rest. Especially the difference in BSE cases between North Ireland (4 times the normal dose) and South Ireland (normal dose) where used.
I'm sorry if I got out of the main theme...

BSE: I think you are refering to a pryon known as 'bovine inspongaform insepa-somthin' It's mad cow. The pryon is a protein that changes the chemical makeup of other proteins in the brains of cows, and in the scrapy case, sheep. The new thing is mouth and foot which is a HIGHLY infectious virus in the cow population. This virus devestates heards and is being very strictly quarentened in the UK. I dont think they would send cow dung from the UK unless it was absoultely F&M free. The cases of Mad-Cow are far less now, as the cause was realized. All animal bi-product meal is now banned in all worldly countries, and the Foot Mouth thing is being watched closely.
BTW- what is 'psychotomimmetic'?

hi,
psychotomimetic = mimicking a psychosis (The Botany and Chemistry of Hallucinogens, Schultes & Hofmann)
Yeah, F&M is highly contagious, but isn't too dangerous for the animals, only about 2% die.

BSE [Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy]
The prion proteins cannot be spread through their shit, because they only exist in the central nervous system and the spinal cord.
I hate the attention the UK has had lately over BSE and the foot and mouth epidemic. Apparently a vile of the disease was stolen from a research lab not 2 months before the outbreak. I bet the whole thing started from that.

nothing should live after 10 minutes of nuking...that is my experience. just remember to add water when you nuke...when you see it boil dont stop it, let it keep boiling and eventually this will dry it out without removing water with hands and then you can use it when it cools down. its very powdery also. so just mist it after wards to get desired moisture. remember to cover it up when nuking i made the mistake of putting dung in a ceramic bowl and not covering it up with anything so i was cleaning wet/dry dung from my nuker.
