Veil finally broke on my first pin:

I ended up opening up the bag once pins started hitting the sides. I'll use larger bags next time. Anyway I have more pins coming up every day. There's a little bruising where I misted a little bit before these pics.
Ovoid cakes in the background are almost finished consolidating. Won't see fruits from them for a while though, lol.
I know it's not much but I'm happy with it. I guess I can officially cultivate shrooms, lol.

Yes, all of that. I got tall, small capped fruit indoors from both prints so far. Much more pronounced than your pic, tall enough to reach the top of my dome with caps about the same size as yours. Also grew some of those same cultures outdoors where they ended up looking textbook.
In years past I had exactly that happen with clones cultures from wild fruit (a folly I’ve since given up), dub-tubs that would yield a dozen foot-long, small-capped fruit at a time, with rolling harvests instead of distinct flushes. After filling the dehydrator a couple times, I’d toss em into the flower bed, and as soon as It rained I’d get a handful of perfectly fat foot-stools.

How many attempts did it take you to get this result?
Been a pet project for a couple years. Short story is: this summer has been first attempt at cultivating from wild spores instead of clone and this bottle is the first success this in this run. earlier this summer I tossed a series of three 1gal ziplocks (different T1 pins grown out, all from same germ plate) whose spawn had looked clean, but ended up showing bacterial metabolites in the bag, did the pin-set thing with heavy fuzz and then gave up.
I’ll PM you for the long story, been a journey for sure. Much more difficult (for me) than domesticated lines that’ve been in widespread cultivation for years.

Congrats! Are those your first fruits ever? Really exciting time, that.
Pic tax, had a hell of a time getting a 16 month old spore syringe of mexi-cubs to germinate, heavily bacterial. Finally got some growth on brf pucks. Almost tossed them because there is a clear bacteria swath right where the syringe squirted; figured I'd wait just to see what happens and glad I did. Gonna get transfers off 3 pucks and then it's off to the races

Yep, those are my first. It is exciting, lol, I have been forcing myself to not look at them so much. Thanks for the compliment.
That's cool you finally got your mexi-cubes to germ. I love BRF pucks, I have cleaned up some nasty cultures making pucks in pint and quart jars. Just do a Josex Poke onto the contaminated plates and shoot them onto the puck.
I literally haven't had a single puck fail, knock on wood, using the Josex Poke biopsies. I also made 8 ovoid BRF cakes using the same method and all 8 are growing beautifully. Great way to clean up tough cultures IMO.

Wild cubes seem to produce that type of pheno a lot. I’ve had three and they all had the solid skinny stems with smallish caps that a lot of the time don’t open all the way.
