I think the issue is that it can spin out of control, and eventually you have pages of thread with fucked up subject lines.

But with that said Im no moderator, I just grow mushrooms, and I havent seen them ban anyone for it yet

Oh, yeah, I can see the issue there for sure, it can quickly turn into a free-for-all. I could just see how it might actually work out on threads like this one, which are all over the place by their very nature. But of course that just opens Pandora's box.

I just wasn't sure if I was missing some other angle based on the functionality of the search engine or whatever.

Also, my sincere apologies to anyone searching for information on living in a van down by the river who might have been thrown off by my corny joke.

The Chinese K40s are an option, but from what I've seen they require quite a bit of tinkering to get (and keep) working correctly. If you've got technical ability, lots of patience, and little money they might work for you.

For those of us with more money than time (or little patience), the name brands may be a better choice. These include:
  • Glowforge: starting at $4000. Super easy to use, great support, very helpful and active community.
  • Full Spectrum: starting at around $3000

If you don't do much laser cutting (or if you want to start out without spending lots), there's always the online and local service companies.

Thanks. Though I have more money than time, I think Iโ€™ll look into service companies. I donโ€™t have enough interest to divert that much money into one of these. I have plenty of expensive hobbies. I also have a casual friend with a glow forge. Iโ€™m not good enough friends with him to get him to do all my cutting, but I bet heโ€™d trade mushrooms for shop time.

Thanks for the quick summary. You saved me a bunch of time on that one.

Just got my microbiology sample kit from corning.

Their dishes seem to be quality. And they only want $106 for a case of 500.

Back in the day there were a few sites that gave sleeves of dishes as samples.

Do you guys know of any sites offering free dishes? I ran out and don't really have funds to buy more ATM.
