exercise is vital to mental health * 1
    #27959703 - 09/20/22 08:31 PM (1 year, 4 months ago)

Don't forget to workout and jog/run at least a few days a week. It can make a massive difference on you mental health; anxiety/depression/etc. Not to mention your physical health.

That said I barely work out. I put on Eye of the Tiger followed by Back in Black on, in which time I bike a mile on the machine and then lift weights until both songs are over. that's it.

Thanks for reminder. Though, found less walking about to get to do exercise is saving money on me food. And with that, I have found a cookie can eat as dessert with money savings. The daily bread now stretches to two days. Saving that food stamp.

Yeah, excited to get off food stamps. Need them for know. Still on the Oregon Trail card, that trip ends, the Oregon Trail, ends in Oregon City. Which reminds me, need go to court for such action taken there years ago...

Yeah, simple notion to exercise already flossed mental health! Or, was that the sugar from cookie?

Exercising is vital. Thant's it. For mental as wells as for physical health. It's pity most ppl understand it too late.

just don't set a new years resolution type thing if you're serious about getting into shape.

a lot of people set new years resolutions and when "life happens" they often forget about their resolutions which leads to them beating themselves up over not committing to or following through with their resolution.

start small and work your way up when it comes to fitness.

i've been at it for almost ten years and I have learned to keep an open mind or open approach to fitness, like with anything, don't let it rule your life.  create a good relationship with fitness, fasting, what you like to eat, your bodies image, how you mentally/physically feel in order to keep moving forward!

@336 have you tried making ridiculously easy goals and then slightly modifying ans increasing them? This can be a good psychological trick

Go hard on the weight training at least every couple of times.
Worth it for THE PUMP bro. Next level euphoria.
Although you can get that high from pushing yourself just over your comfort zone speed on a good distance run.

NGL, a few times when I used to run 5k at least once or twice a week, I started coming up on MDMA. Not literally, but the feeling was the same after pushing just past the boundaries of what I was capable of.

Also there's so many benefits to weight training which can actually help with cardio.
The better your body composition, the better you will process / metabolise the foods you eat, and you will not be storing as much excess fat,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just pulled that one out of my ass. I think I heard it somewhere, but it sure seems logical, and I have experientially noticed this,.

I believe the more muscle mass you have, the larger energy expenditure there is so you end up burning more calories throughout the day even at rest. I don't think it's a huge margin, but it's definitely optimal

I first started working out religiously for mental health reasons. My son passed away.
Once I saw more muscle definition. I got hooked.
I love it and I dont feel right if I dont work out in some sort of way.
It has been a part of my everyday life now. I love it!!!!!!

Yes!

If you have ever had a decent amount of muscle on you and you eat a recovery meal then go to sleep not long after eating you can feel your muscles burning the cals, especially if you're in a calorie deficit.  In a cal-deficit you might wake up in the middle of the night from your body humming away!
