[Advice] Looking to design a sign in/out and chore system for the sober living I'm in.[Update: FUCK that place]

Hi all, I'm staying at a shithole sober living facility that uses paper to sign in and out and to check off chores. I'm bored and decided to be of service and surprise them with a new system to track productivity. I have access to free old computers and have a bunch of down time so I figured it might be a fun project to keep me busy and maybe get a rent reduction.
I'm looking to have the user sign in and have access to a check in/out activity log and also be able to sign off on their chores each day, AA meetings they've attended, etc. Something extremely simple and basic. I'd even like to be able to have the house manager be able to pull reports of who didn't do their chores, didn't meet their weekly AA meeting quota, and be able to override or give them a fail if they deem it incomplete.
I've used VB waaaay back in the day but I'm sure there's probably a more user friendly program these days to do so. Can anyone recommend where to start with this?

Maybe use Microsoft C++?
Or an Excel workbook could work, but might be too complicated for people who arent computer-savvy.

You could do a standard CRUD web app.
If you go React, MySQL and NodeJS there will be all kinds of tutorials.
A tutorial like this would give you everything and then you would just have to modify the database and front end
It is going to be a good amount to learn though without any javascript.
A Flask tutorial for python would do basically the same thing and there is good learning material also.
I agree with Logical Chaos that Excel might be best. Google Sheets might even be better because it can all be online then.
Personally, I would make something in Google sheets and then you can start learning javascript if you want.

Thanks for the info, it's just a TAD late...
We found out the owner was gambling our rent money away on scratch offs and fentanyl... So i started looking for other places to live and a friend of mine hooked me up with a room across the street! The difference is night and day, so is the price but I can afford it so I moved last night and I'm not looking back. That house was a sinking ship before I ever arrived and I hope everyone else finds a better place to go because that is NOT a place for anyone to go get sober. Piece of shit preaches 12 steps all day while screaming at everyone for everything and then he goes and does this shit.
Fuck him. He can keep his paper binder full of chores.

Wow I am sorry, that really sucks. Especially for a person in that position.

Thanks man, I'm actually having a lot of success in my sobriety. The place I'm in now is so clean and quiet, everything works (including the people) and they're sane lol.
I can finally start rebuilding my life in this place as far as stuff goes; furniture, cookware, etc. I lost it all when I made the move to CA and I'm starting life over with a suitcase full of clothes. It's been a long crazy fucking ride but I've managed to complete a 45 day program, get my CA license, find an amazing, well paying job at an AWESOME place, and I'm working on getting my motorcycle license!
