And around here itโs $200/ounce for golden teachers. You canโt even get stronger strains or other species.
I canโt wait until the laws allow me to sell my harvests. Iโd happily sell for $1000/pound and Iโd be selling nats and PF+ and tidal wave to practitioners working with patients. Iโd love to undercut the market, provide better mushrooms, and make enough extra money to hire people to do the parts of the work I hate.

The last time I bought any I got a special deal, 100 for the oz, otherwise itโs usually 150-200/oz around here. That was like two weeks before I inoculated my first bag of grains.
Pic tax Phobos from a 2nd flush. I did a haphazard cloning of this mushroom, tore it open in open air, took a needle biopsy and injected it into a no pour agar.

Well I was going to post some Melmac grain that was colonizing but I dropped the fucking jar and it broke open and got half colonized bird seed everywhere. Oh yeah trying to walk barefoot over glass and wbs sucks balls. Just so you know. I'm trying these pp5 jars I get at the dollar store to see how they work. Anyways here's a picture of my gourmet mushrooms. Left it's king blue oyster, mid is lions mane, right is enoki each with a back up agar plate on top.

Micro doses around here, already capsuled, are $2/100mg cap. Thatโs $20/g or $560/ounce, or $8960/pound.
I would not want to be selling mushrooms at those prices on one hand, but I could quit my job if I did.

I have a dream of having a psilo shop where back of house is the grow space and front of house sells/makes product. Chocolates, gummies, drinks, shakes, dried fruit, capsules, maybe even home grow supplies. Then I could have a couple of rooms you could rent with trip toys and hi-fi systems.
Thatโs really what I want to do 9-5.

Shit's all relative. How high is the cost of living, what are local skilled wages like, how strong/clean/well-dosed the product is, etc. It's easy to underestimate just how many hours go into growing a lb of mushrooms-and how many hours it took to be able to grow a lb of mushrooms- when you're doing it as a hobby. I don't have a problem paying people for their time, effort, and hard-won expertise. Greedy middle-men, not so much. I'd rather pay a grower $300 for an ounce of top-shelf weed, or even a street hustler $15 for a gram-sized bud, than give some flipper or corporate grower $200 for an ounce that cost them $75.
Some of the legal weed prices seriously give me pause. Somebody somewhere has to be getting underpaid.

Iโd love to do something like this. Itโs already decriminalized around here to grow for personal consumption. I canโt wait for it to get to the state level with commerce available.

I make a lot of money by most standards at my day job. And my work isnโt that hard. Cost of living is pretty high around here. I donโt need to make money for myself. I just want to pay some employees a living wage and put good quality product in the hands of people who need it at good prices.
Cost of living is high around here. Minimum wage is around $15/hour. There are a lot of affluence around here. This area can support a lot of weed shops. Iโm not into weed. Iโm into mushrooms. I want to provide a mushroom based business around here.

Not much but I nocc'd my first grain jars tonight. The grain is German Millet, I soaked it for 18hrs, rinsed and then PC for1.5hrs. I popped some grains at the bottom of the jar but otherwise turned out ok. Except for me overfilling them a bit:

Also made a my first two LC cultures today too. I made a RW F11 LC and an Ovoid LC. Both are LME and H2O recipe.
I nocc'd up 2 grain jars with B+, One with Ovoid and one with RW F11. Used an entire 100mm plate per jar. Just sliced the agar plates into four quadrants and mixed them into each jar.
Hopefully these will work out, I was very careful with prep and sterile tek as always. I'm hoping to get my first monos going with these.

Believe it or not there's about 1.5"-2" room in each one, pic makes it look worse than it is. I was able to shake the agar quadrants all the way to the bottoms and sides. I shook until I could see the agar chunks were located where I wanted them.

Payment on back pic taxes, latest incarnation of the ever-evolving work and grow space. Got real baked and started coming up with elaborate wire-shelf geometry in my head, and this was the result...

Damn that's cool B Traven. I can't wait to set up a better area. I'm working in a closet now but I'm thinking of incorporating a small room into my garage and designate it as my clean room.
