May have removed cakes too early?
    #27948549 - 09/13/22 06:28 PM (1 year, 4 months ago)

Hello, I may have removed my cakes too early. They looked to be fully colonized when they were in the jars (sat for about 5 weeks). One jar even had a mushroom growing in it.

I took them out and put them in a fruiting chamber. They may have been dried out as the humidity was around 80%. They sat in that chamber for roughly 8 full days with constant day light. 80% humidity, 71 Degrees.

I have since created a more enclosed container for them to fruit in with the humidity sitting around 92% consistently, 75 Degrees. It's been two days now. Are there any thoughts on whether I should put the cakes back in the jars and continue to colonize? They looked like they were covered in the mycelium "strands" but I didn't see the real "fuzzy" growth that I've now seen on other posts. I do see some "fuzzy / bulbous" mycellium growth on the bottom of the cakes. Sorry for the ignorance. Any advice is much appreciated!

Appreciate the advice. I never dunked after birthing the cakes. I must’ve received wrong info. When to say the jars lids are perfect for bottom watering. Do you simply mean pouting some water in the lids?

I have created a new chamber that the cakes can be closer together. I will also be purchasing more verm.

Alrighty,

I created a smaller chamber…poured water in the lids for some bottom watering and I’ll be rolling in verm once I get some more. Should I bottom water until I see the cakes getting that fuzzy look and then just keep misting until fruiting? I

Also, any recommendations on how often to light the cakes? I’ve just been simply turning off the daylight bulb when I got to sleep.
