pan foe's
    #2794834 - 06/15/04 01:20 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

you can't walk through my front lawn without stepping on one. and the curious boy i am, i have looked at them A LOT. i've noticed that some older ones have browish-blue bruising on the caps. young ones that have died off are also this color entirely. has anyone else noticed a dark-brown-blue bruising on pan foes? i would show you a picture, but my sister has taken the digital camera to work with her in St. John.

another thing. not related. i saw a small grouping of three pan foes, and i noticed the the bottom-most one has part of the topmost one's spore print on it.  :ooo:

I don't suggest bio assaying it.. although
most guides list it as edible.. I found a few
2 years ago in the north east.. and bio assayed them
I swear I got a mild buzz... but it could have just been
the weed.... I don't know,,,

Everyone seems to be in agreement that they are
not phycoactive... and usually steer clear of them...
As with any mushroom a sure and positive ID is absolutly
necessary before ingesting.... Never ever ingest any
mushroom without first getting a definative answer...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!!!!!!

yeah, ive seen that. but check the spore print, because if its black then they may even be subbs. because what you mentioned was actually a pan subb i found. dark brown print is foe and black is subb, remember that.
