Hey man all my bottles contam’d
Everything that riptide culture has touched since I tried working with it has contamed out. Just have to try again with something else!
So here’s the result of the Florida cube spores I was sent. Spawned from 4 PF cakes shredded to CV. There’s enough in here to show, but it’ll get harvested in two gos. Call me crazy, but do these look a little like tamps?

True. Since the top surface is the only bit not pinning like mad, I figure I’ll give it another day or two while that micro climate is so productive, then once it’s covered, slide it out upside down into a jumbo ziploc to fruit to maturity.
I just really wanted a sexy top-fruit bottle harvest like SirPsycho. But fruits is fruits. And I’ve got a good culture going…
Was that one bottle with all the side pins done colonizing before the rest? I've found I get a lot of side pins if I let them consolidate too much before casing. They do tend to abort in favour of surface pins most times tough.
Also, your casing looks a bit thick. Should be 1/4" at most. I try to use as little as possible just as long as the whole surface is covered

Yes actually, it was the first one finished. But it was only a 1 pt bottle, not the quart size, so I didn’t think much of it.

Thanks man, I’ll keep that in mind for the next one.

Smelly, those Floridas are looking good. Way to go, homie

First tub of APE-R. I got to them just in time. I can't wait to try these things. Just shy of 1000g wet. Easy to harvest and was quick growing solid stipes and bruised super easy. They might be my go to if the experience is good.

Lol ok cool. Never grown them so idk. Also never grown a toothpick thin cube. Some of the caps were smaller than the stipes. I’ve seen a few tamp pics that looked similar.

I make one little post about not being super concerned about side pins in one of my minis where the surface looks to be fruiting pretty good, and now one of the other ones is total side pin city

They found that gap, gotta tighten up! Lol

Because it’s always there to some degree and unless it’s a crazy amount of something, I pay it no attention and don’t let it make me adjust anything. Ppl will tell you it means this or that but I think a lot of it is genetic. Idk, I just don’t pay attention to it and I don’t think you’ll see any experienced growers even mention it
