Unless he has experience growing shrooms himself, he prolly wouldn't have a clue what you are up to.

At least in my state the landlord is allowed to enter as long as it pertains to maintenance of the apartment (checking heating/ac, plumbing issues, spraying for pests, etc...). Keep your stuff out of sight and in a location where he would have no reason to look around.

It depends on what state you live in, and the terms of your lease agreement. In some places a landlord has to give 24 hours notice before entering your apartment, unless it's an 'emergency'. Other states don't make this provision. Check your lease contract and local ordinances. A quick call to your local police station will probably answer the ordinance question.

PS. You've discovered one of the coolest parts of your hobby - the methods used to grow mushrooms are so esoteric that most people wouldn't know where to begin asking questions about it.
I mean, before you ever started growing, would you have thought much of going into some stranger's apartment and finding a few jars full of mold? You'd probably think he was a little odd, or a total slob, but probably would never have guessed what he was doing.
Of course, if you have a translucent self-automated terrarium with cool mist humidifier and a bunch of humidity and temperature sensors... then someone might think it's strange enough to ask about it. They'd probably still never guess what it was, though, unless they had done it themselves.

i dont know man, he might think you are trying to grow mj or something and he might get you in trouble. I would quit for about a month and start over but this time make it stealth where he cant see anything. Or you can just buy a new lock on your bedroom door where you only have the key. How do you know he wont go in when they are in the middle of fruiting. I wouldnt take the chance, I would rather my freedom.

As a former apartment manager I thought i'd give you all some insite into the law concerning entrance into someones apartment. First we need to make the point that a public person is not a law-enforcement officer and hence is not constrained by search and seazure law. For example i could break into my neighbors house and steal there tv, while i was there i saw 5 foot marijuana plants. I could go tell the police and they could get a search warrent, if the judge thinks i'm not reliable they may not grant a search warrent, but even so they'll geta, once they know. I may go to jail for theft, but my statement can get a search warrent. Just like a narc they can lie and break every law but their statement can give the police reasonable cause. Kinda sucks don't it. So if your landlord comes in he may be violating state law or lease agreement, but his statement can get ya busted, he may end up violating your lease agreement or state laws even could owe you money ( you could sue, if he breaks your lease), but its not going to do you any good sitting in jail. note * I don't know law in all the states, minnesota is a bases for my post*

In my state they are not allowed to enter with out first giveing 24 hours notice. Unless it is an emergancy IE water heater busted and is leaking all over/fire etc..
He probobly didn;t even notice them. If he had and wondered what they were he would have said something. You can;t jsut call the police and say well someone has soil and a light inside of a tupperware go arrest them.
My guess is he would ahve asked you what it was and judged based on your reaction wether it was somethign illegal or not.
if he accusses you of something and you didn;t do anything that us defermation of character. they would lose a tenant and posibly future tenants buy sayig anything. so i would say you should be ok. but also don;t go over board for a while keep stuff out of sight where at all posible jsut in case he stops by again jsut to see whats going on.

To me it's rather simple; If a lay person were to come into someone's apartment and see actual mushrooms growing in a tub, they would not immediately assume they were "magic" mushrooms (even if they were aware there were such a thing). They may ask you what the mushrooms are all about and you simply reply that they're Chinese Straw mushrooms. You're growing them because you can't find them anywhere fresh, and you don't care for the canned ones.
If they ask to sample some, just say that you need them all to make your mushroom soup recipe, but you'll be happy to give them some soup when you make it. Then go to the store, buy some mushroom soup and canned straw mushrooms and make the "special soup" for them.

Moving out in 12 days?? I say throw everything away and start over in your new place...
As for California, you MUST get a notice for maintanence to enter your apt a day in advance, emergencys are diferent. Thats how the guy in Canada got busted with the largers shroom bust known.. He rented a condo and had hundreds of pounds of shrooms all over the place. The landlord was called to unlock the place because an underground water pipe burst in the back yard...
Freedom is nothing to play with here in the US. If you have any doubt its better safe than sorry and all activities should be abandoned.. In Canada I know its a diferent story but still.. When in doubt, throw it all out...

DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NO INTEREST IN TAKING OR PURCHASING SHROOMS.
Ok. To clear this up, I was curious about shrooms, have no idea about them asked about some in Ohio and was interested and then changed my mind. I said no to purchasing anything. This guy is now emailing me with pictures off Facebook calling me a awful mother and telling me I’m going to jail for asking about shrooms. Is this Minority Report ages or he fucking with me. Said something about paying a tax clear free thing…I say it’s a scammer
