and i forgot, your main question was about filterd air?
as i said i've only got basic filtration and it seems o.k.
i reckon (only a guess tho') that with the air recirculation and as long as your not filthy (i don't have lab' sterility, but i'm not REALLY a pig either) contamination is not that big an issue???

My new digs aren't set up yet... and I have no digital camera. But this is what I'm doing.
Ultrasonic ($40), several sterilite containers ($6 ea.), hepa filtered air circulation and exchange, and water heat.
My plan is to heat through tubing buried in the bottom casing layer, by modifying a plastic cooler with a submersible tank heater 300w ($40) and a submersible pump ($17). The water is heated then the pump circulates the water through a manifold with small valves to control heat in individual containers.
I haven't found a suitable air plenum yet, but I can just build one from plexi. if I have too. I'm also going to add a float valve to my humidifier which will be connected to the house plumbing with an icemaker plumbing kit, no more re-filling, yay!
As far as heat goes, I used a seed tray heater for one sterilite box. But I didn't want to buy a heater for each box when I expand, so I came up with the water heat thing to make the system modular, like the humidifier setups you may be familiar with.
I figure that it'll take a few days to get the adjustments right and I'll be up and running in 2 weeks.

Now thatz a phattie lil' setup rght there. Cool..Cool..So what u'r sayin' is that excess moisture settles in the pvc tubing then? And you don't have contamination problems, i.e the humidified air isn't fitered? Or is it?... Also using external heat control?
Thanx, ....Any more info and pix would be much appreciated Guys & Gals

the water can not settle in the frame because it is separate from the humidification line. The 4 way pvc was sealed to let the air-entrapment line go directly to the chamber from the humidifier. and yes AFOAF plans on H2O2 but is not using it yet.

Technical questions for mcman....
What brand of cool mist does the mc use?
Is it sealed perfectly, with a filter disk for air intake?
The dome part is acrylic correct? How about the actual body of the thing, like the bottom piece where the glovebox holes are/ incubating tray, etc.? Fiberglass?
Is a fan used in addition to the coolmist? What type? What CFM? Is it on continuously?
Does your system use a thermostat or whatever the equivalent is for humidity (sorry my mind is drawing a blank on the name...)? If not, how is the temperature adjusted? By adjusting the submersible heater in the reservoir?
Sorry for all the questions...

a friend has an ultrasonic but it seems to put out too much humidity to run nonstop or even at some intervals. Do you have a timer on your humidifier or how do you work it in your machine, a mixing chamber?

I've been waiting for your site to comeback. I thought you might of just been modifying it. I was going to order one from you. Is there any chance I could still get one?
