Ladies....any advice? *girly matters*
    #2793106 - 06/14/04 07:42 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Okay well...Due to being female I have found myself in a state of discontentment, moodiness and general gloom the past few days.  I feel constantly tired and I ache all over.

What can I do to break out of this?  I'm desperate.  I know that it's only temporary for a few more days at most, but I can't stand my mood, and I am finding it hard to find satisfaction anywhere.  Everything irritates me.  Nothing is acceptable.  It's very frustrating to say the least, even more so because I know it's only because of stupid pms.

Basically I'm asking advice on anything I can do to make myself feel better.  It's still light outside...should Kevin and I go to the lake?  Should I read a book?  What do you do when you need a good distraction from..."this?"

Sorry if this post sounds pathetic, but really, that's how I feel right now so I guess I don't mind asking my fellow female shroomerites for some support during this time.

Thanks

heres my advice to when you feel bored and gloomyish. go find someone to talk to. go find some friends. take a walk. smoke some pot. that's what i do. never am i not around people, if i'm on the computer, i'm talking to people.

people to me are an inner joy. they help me through anything. this mood you have is your body asking you to do something productive. heck i got so bored this weekend, i couldn't sit around so i helped an abused woman's rehab put up fence stakes and dig holes. it was laborous but it felt good. i met cool people, i ate some nice salad at their BBQ, bought some awesome hippy clothes for 65 cents at their yardsale thing and felt replenished cause of such a work out.

yeah its not really female to work your ass off outside in 90 degree weather but sometimes an alternate is the thing to do.

reading a book sucks for me. i sit there and think about other stuff as i try to read. and don't even comprehend what i read. it's like, woah, i just LOOKed at the words. i didn't take them in.

whatever floats your boat i say. listen to what you want and do it.

haha, that's a good guy answer...but i think if she is in a discontent/gloomy mood i don't think that would really help. It may, but i dont know.

I agree with PuZuZu, doing some good work, that is productive that you can feel good about when you are done feels good inside. I'm typically not too much of a hard worker unless i'm motivated, but a lot of times after i'm done it can be as simple as feeling glad that it's done with, or where you feel that you accomplished something good and you feel good about your work and you are proud of yourself.

you don't neccasarily have to have fun to feel better...doing something that will actually make you think/feel better about yourself. It can easily lift you into higher spirits....and then go take some bong rips.

LOL I posted about this a few days ago. Definitely go to the lake! I went backpacking this weekend and feel lots better. Eat some fruit and veggies- try to have a clean diet supplemented with chocolate of course! Rest- cuddle with your husband and watch a funny movie. Good luck! This too will pass.

Well, as a guy, I'd like to request that you do NOT go somewhere with your significant other unless you can keep your feelings in check. How much do you hate it when your man is in a pissy mood at won't talk about what's bothering him? Well that's how much we hate when women DO talk about shit. Don't take that the wrong way though. Its not that we aren't interested in hearing you out, its just that guys want to solve women's problems and, unfortunately for both of us, women do NOT want their problems solved, they just wanna talk about it, so it makes things worse. Plus, there's nothing more annoying than when a girl is PMSing and bitches for 5 hours straight. I hate to sound like some kind of insensitive jerk BUT, its something that happens once a month, every month, for about 35 years. I don't get why its such a big fuckin deal EVERY time.

(to myself)
Maybe they can't help it though... There's a lot of shit goin on with their bodies, and they can't really be held accountable for their moods. Maybe its just an excuse to be bitchy though, they seem to cling to those....

Thanks...

I ended up trying to read a book, but fell asleep and didn't wake up until 14 hours later.

I guess I was tired!
