Or buy two and dub tub them. Basically replace the lid with another upside down shoebox

Ha! Thanks 😊 I went to the agar envy thread and I was smart enough to only use good looking mycelium in my A2G transfers so I'm ok for now I think.

I was trying to figure out if I can assume I will get 1 oz dry weight per quart of spawn, assuming it's a perfect BE.  So if I'm following all Bods easy AF TEKS, and use 7 quart jars of spawn per tub, should I guess I'll get about 7 oz of dry weight?  I will probably start soaking some more rye today if that's the case, lol.  I inoculated 3 jars with GT and 3 with JMF but probably want to at least double those.

7 quarts of spawn will require a minimum of14 quarts of coir if you want a basic 1:2 ratio, that's ridiculously over spawned.

It’s a safer bet to split your 7 qts between several smaller tubs in case you get hit with contamination. May loose one tub and the rest could still do you good. Try not to put all your eggs in one basket if you can.

An ounce per quart would be on the low side, assuming everything goes well you should end up with more than that. A lot of tubs will put out an ounce per quart in the first flush alone.

I have a question about liquid culture:

It's been six days since I inoculated my jar of 5% honey solution with a rice grain from my bag of GT I had grown from spawn. The initial spawn in the bag seemed to grow pretty quickly, but I'm not seeing a whole lot going on yet in the LC, maybe a tiny little haziness but not a lot.

I pressure cooked and it's got a lid on it with a miro filter, and I inoculated using a still air box. Does it take a little longer for the jar to colonize?

So my pf cakes I noc'ed up on 8/4 with lc 1ml peu per cake sprayed on top well they are about 95% colonized but throwing shrooms! So dunk and roll? Wanted to use H2O tub but will SB if needed.  Thanks 21 days after inoculation with lc

I don't have an answer to your question.
I just wanted to say that seems really slow for LC. I have 2 cakes I inoculated with MS on 8/4 that are only a couple days out from being %100.
Also the fact that the growth has stalled indicates contamination. Test your LC on a plate to see if it's clean.
I'd stay away from LC completely until you get everything down pat. Then again I hate LC I can't ever get it right just not skilled enough I guess lol.

The cakes didn't stall just slow moving because of the heat just wondering dunk and roll which I have room for or should I shoebox it which I can do but...

I know this isn't answering your question directly, but I've moved away from WBS and using only no-prep millet, works perfectly every time.  Here is the tek https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27318708

Where are you finding straight millet? Im having a lot of trouble sourcing grains around here. Went back to wbs because I can always go to Wally world and grab a bag of Pennington's relatively cheap.

Yeah like Derralyd said, I get it at my local supermarket. 2kgs cost about $2.  You could also use budgie seed which is basically just millet with a little oats.

Good point, I didn't take note of his original goal.
To the OP 1 mycoquart can get you 4- 5 ounces if your culture is efficient.

Go to the agar envy thread and browse through what healthy mycelium looks like.

Most of mine looked like this.  Im letting the ones that weren't as obviously good uniform mycelium growth grow, out longer before I use them.  Probably won't actually, I made plenty.

Usually heat will make the mycelium move faster. The reason we don't use higher heat is because it also promotes contamination, so we just cultivate at room temperature. Any time I see a substrate pinning before %100 colonization it makes me think there is some contamination.
Edit: maybe promotes wasn't the right word to use but higher temps give contams conditions they can thrive in.

There isn't even defined mycelium, you have a block of overlay.

Well simply I don’t know what I’m doing. First I’m hearing of overlay.

What type is that supposed to be??

You might be growing oysters also. It’s unusual for even contaminated cube myc to fill the jar like that, and some of the edges of that plate look a lot like pins forming.

Well I thought it was GT. But I’m also trying to do oysters. So maybe I miss labeled somewhere along the way. 😬  I’ll finish them off and try to get to the bottom of it. Thanks y’all.
