Yes, I misunderstood. Since you've now been informed of the misleading nature of that specific headline, can you share a real example of "woke folk actually actively persecuting and cancelling others for speaking out"? That article describes the exact opposite - perhaps you've been mislead more than once when forming this belief.

Jordan Peterson, one of the most reasonable people on the planet - banned from Twitter, by the way - speaking up against compelled speech (forced use of pronouns):
-------------------- Penny: 'What are you and Professor FussyFace up to tonight?' Leonard: "Star Wars on Blu-ray." Penny: 'Haven't you seen that movie like, a thousand times?' Leonard: "Not on Blu-ray. Only twice on Blu-ray." Penny: 'Oh, Leonard...' Leonard: "I know. It's high-resolution sadness." - The Big Bang Theory, S07E09

Jordan Peterson, one of the most reasonable people on the planet - banned from Twitter, by the way - speaking up against compelled speech (forced use of pronouns)
Banned from Twitter (at the time) for breaking their policy on hateful conduct by harassing a specific individual (Elliot Page). It seems to be a very similar situation to the Norwegian article you initially shared - misinformation from those with an anti LGBTQ agenda included. He wasn't compelled by the State to say anything - he chose to harass an individual, and that broke Twitter's TOS (at the time).
Peterson has been doomsaying this looming imposition of State compelled speech since 2016 - but none of his claimed threats, that he could be prosecuted under provincial human-rights laws if he refused to call a transgender student or faculty member by the individual's preferred pronoun, have ever manifested - it's been eight years... Perhaps he was wrong?
The only discipline he has received over the years has been for transgressions against the standards of his various professional memberships. Meanwhile, he's also gone on to publish several bestselling books, and continues to recieve millions of views for his online lectures. Is he really an example of "woke folk actually actively persecuting and cancelling others for speaking out"?

I will admit, it's not the best example; but the video I posted was the first thing that came to mind.
https://www.artefactmagazine.com/2021/02/17/cancel-culture-how-far-has-wokeness-gone/
Quote:
JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter book series, has been one of the big names to be cancelled. She then received death threats, rape threats and daily hate on social media for her view regarding transexual women. There have even been tweets with the hashtag #RIPJKRowling trending on Twitter, and tweets which call her a ‘transphobic bitch’.
Many may not agree or like Rowling’s views regarding the trans community, sending her death threats and wanting to burn her house down is surely not the way to have a persuasive discussion and meaningfully progress in conversations around transgenderism.
Which opens debate for the question: is cancel culture really effective? Free speech has its consequences, whether that be controversial opinions or not. Vanity Von Glow, a drag artist, discusses their opinions on the BBC podcast Tricky about cancel culture:
“People are allowed to have their ideas in public, but criticism of those ideas is part of the market place. But that’s not what I think of when I think of cancel culture, I think of it being more severe, and it’s about shutting people down, it’s ‘unpersoning’ them. That leaves no space for people to grow, and also it leaves no space for me to hear ideas that are perhaps interesting or unusual because I’ve got to learn too.”
"Every time you learn something, you learn because something you did, didn't work. And that exposes you to the part of the world that you don't understand. Every time you're exposed to the part of the world that you don't understand, you have the possibility of rebuilding the structures you use to interpret the world. That's often why it's more important to notice that you're wrong than it is to prove that you're right. One of the things you're supposed to learn in university is precisely that. It might be useful to listen to people that annoy you, on the off chance that they know something that, if they tell you, you can use instead of dying. Talking to people who agree with what you say, is like walking around in a desert. You already know everything that they say. The reason you're associating with them in that situation is so they never say anything that challenges you - because you're afraid that if you go outside of what you understand, you won't be able to tolerate the chaos. But, it isn't the case. People have an unbelievable capacity to face and overcome things they don't understand. And not only that, but that is essentially what gives life its meaning." - Jordan Peterson
"I regard free speech as a prerequisite to a civilized society, because freedom of speech means that you can have combat with words. That's what it means. It doesn't mean that people can happily and gently exchange opinions. It means that we can engage in combat with words, in the battleground of ideas. And the reason that that's acceptable, and why it's acceptable that people's feelings get hurt during that combat, is that the combat of ideas is far preferable to actual combat." - also Peterson

J K Rowling is one of the best selling authors of our time, partially responsible for one of the top grossing movie series ever, and currently connected to one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2023 - that's cancelled?
I think you need to define 'cancel' because you've just given me two examples of immensely popular, highly influential individuals, with voices that easily reach millions (if not billions).

Deliberately obtuse much? Death threats, rape threats, and daily hate on social media - in the name of "tolerance."

You must be new to the political discussion forum.
You should be advised you're talking with folks who automatically look down on anyone criticizing the behavior of the Woke crowd as fascist, racist, domestic terrorists, etc.
There is no example you can use to satisfy someone like Shivas because he simply doesn't care, he will never concede in a million years that you might have a point, because he isn't interested in the truth.

Controversial individuals receiving threats and harassment is hardly unique to people who criticize LGBTQ culture though - shitty people exist across the social spectrum.
If hateful social media messages directed at immensely successful individuals is the worst example of 'persecution' you can find, why do you think 'woke folk' deserve special attention for 'cancelling'?

Quite the contrary - simple denial and blameshifting - your arguments are piss-poor.

And yet you're the one refusing to answer my questions; not vice versa. Go ahead and criticize my arguments instead of answering my questions, if that's easier for you.
Live up to those Jordan Peterson quotes you chose to share!
