the power of magic mushrooms

Ever since the first time I ingested mushrooms, something about them intrigued me.I felt like they were try to tell me something but i didn't know what. I started off, as most do, consuming only about 1.7 - 1.8 grams (half and eigth) and slowy worked my way up to heroic doses (5-6grams). Some of the things I've seen while on larger doses have been incredibly thought provoking. For me while on a heroic dose, I tend to have full on hallucinations as opposed to the standard "visuals" I would get from just eating 1/8. The first hallucination I had was on 4g of malabars, I was staring at my leg when suddenly it was covered with what looked to be glowing writing. The writing resembled hieroglyphics, only it did not look old (if that makes any sense) it looked futuristic or alien. During one hallucination I found myself floating in space and then shooting forward and standing on some strange plantet, standing face to face with a very peculiar looking life-form.It felt and looked so real that I "freaked out", jumped up, opened my eyes and shook my head. Another full on hallucination came when my apartment morphed into a room in a super tall high rise building, everything was metal, it felt very cold. A few topics that I have routinely thought about while tripping are death, the world, and where we are headed as a society. I have learned that death is an inevitablity that all humans must accept and come to terms with. We will not experience an afterlife as described by christianity. Our "self", meaning memories and personality will be gone but our energy, will be distrbuted back into the collective. So in a sense, a part of us will always exist, and always has existed. It is scary for some to think death is the end, but we must understand that it is essential for us to die so the next generation can live.
Probably the most recurring theme in my trips in a sense of impending doom for society as we know it. Our government has become so incredibly corrupt, allying with corporations to rape and pilage the world. Members of organized religion are becoming more and more fanatical. I attribute this to the fact that people are wising up and seeing the religous texts for the "fairy tales" that they are. Constantly on the news they discuss a culture war that is going on, the country is more divided then ever. Actually the world is more divided than ever. I can sense the tension, a build up towards an explosion. People have been predicting some sort of "apocolypse" or world destruction for thousands of years. Unfortunately I belive I will see some sort of world war in my lifetime.
Mushrooms are fucked up. I wish I knew whether the things I think and see while under the influence of mushrooms were just my brain reacting wildly to a foriegn chemical. Or does the mushrooms have some sort of mystical power? I'd like to believe the latter. In any case I just going to keep taking psychedelics until I feel I've seen all I need to see.

The mushrooms is the divine spirits way of communicating with the concious.
There will be great disaster, but those who have faith in the mushrooms will be led to safety to reconstruct civilization.

Great post After having some life-changing trips one definitely has to question the mystical qualities of the mushroom...which I believe there are many. I just don't see how my brain chemistry could be altered (permanently...I think differently after using such psychedelics) by a simple drug experience - we all know the psilocybe mushroom is an interesting and complex entheogen, carrying lots of history with it and promoting the human developement of religion and the arts. P.S. The last time I did mushrooms alone I saw the same type of "futuristic" hieroglyphics being written out on air in front of my wall, and it seemed to hold some kind of meaning but I couldn't figure it out.

Ryan, don't be too concerned about the visuals. i'm sure 7g dry still gave you a mind opening/bending/awakening experience and cleared up your sober mindset afterwards, right? one of the number one reasons i use mushrooms is because i feel like a new man after each trip (most pronounced the day after) and your perspective is much more positive and realistic

Why do people speculate on mushrooms having some magical power, when all they do is play with YOUR brain chemistry? The potential is in you, it is your serotonin receptors that are more important in creating the experience.
If anything is mystical, it is you, not the shrooms.

uh, i think whole existanse of everying in itself is completely mystical. The possibility of an afterlife is totally realistic, because we sure as hell do not know whats goin on in this universe...

^ there you go right there. People that look down on the mushrooms as simply a "drug" that makes you "hallucinate" need to look at life itself and its perplexing and unexplainable occurences, and maybey consider there are things at work that we cannot see, or define, unless you experience them yourself.
Everything that exists is made from chemicals, your skin, the air, the sun, rocks, your hair, urine, semen, pepsi, its all chemicals.
Your daily experience is dependent on chemicals, because chemicals define your reality!!!
Why is the possiblity that the mushroom allows us to get in contact with a higher existence look down upon? Why is it strange that we must use chemicals to do so? If reality is built with chemicals, an experience is nothing more then chemical based! Everyday from when you get up out of bed and your sober, your reality is defined by chemicals. So whats so different about injesting a specific chemical that causes your brain to preform and perceive in a manner that is different when that specific chemical is not present?
If there is a god, it is surely built from chemicals just like everything else. PLease think with an open mind and stop being sacro-sanct!

FUCK WORD!!!
I completely agree, mushrooms ARE mystical because since everything is made up and defined by different chemicals, why is it that the chemical in mushrooms seem to have such a profound effect on the mind and so many chemicals do not??
I don't think death is the "end", is it just another phase of all existance. We are all made up of energy, and it is proven that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transported and manipulated and such... This means that we have always existed in one way or another, and always will in one way or another. Maybe in many ways. Death just a part of the cycle of existance, but it is not the END.
