Plenty in the Northwest. I'm thinking of scouting for some quieter spots again, but always seem to struggle to beat what I find at the popular spots.

I do love the rain!

I good days hunting yesterday, just short of 500g of (fresh) Libs.

Most found above 240 meters and the rain made them extremely hard to spot.

For those who wonder whether to pick the small ones or to leave them to get bigger.  In the case of these mushrooms small is better as they have a higher consentration of psilocybin. As soon as the cap is open thousands of spores are dropped. If you remember to use a net bag (I use the ones, you get at the supermarket Lidl or Aldi to put your veg in) you will be dropping spores wherever you walk.

Happy hunting.

how much is that in dried weight?

Generally around 10% of the wet weight.

I'm based in Liverpool and it's been raining on and off for the past few days, quite low temps around 12-14c also. Only issue I am worried about is finding a pasture or piece of land which could grow them. I'm thinking of having a look around the Croxteth Park / Knowsley Park area but from what I see on elevation maps it's only 20m-80m in elevation and people seem to be finding them at way higher elevations. Best of luck to all- hope the yield is plenty.

First outing of the season today. Lovely weather too, up in the western peaks.

Not much fungi around at all really, but managed to spot a fair few libs. Enough to make the day worthwhile although most were fairly small. I guess there hasn’t really been enough rain to produce bigguns. However there were loads of pins popping up so this weekend should be happy picking. And with more rain forecast next week is gonna be boom time.

First finds of the season! Didn't get any shots in situ but here's the aftermath. Two and a half hours picking. Elevation 300m - 650m. 205g wet. I separated them and got rid of grass etc this evening and they will be going in the dehydrator tomorrow. How did I do?

My local field is starting to produce, but I only found 8 in an hour of searching.

It probably didn't help that it has rained overnight, so they were very hard to spot.

I live in Yorkshire, had to head a little way North for these as my local spots have yet to fruit. I assume your spots are yet to yield down there?

I've got a really good spot there, will be going there on Saturday probably. I could show you where it is. Just not 100% sure it will be producing yet though

Howd,

Sorry not been around for a bit.

Yes, leave pins till they open,

It my wife and I two hours to pick that amount but that was a low harvest for the area. We can get more than double that after the sheep are moved to better grazing. I am sure the sheep hunt for Libs too  This year so far has been poor as there has not been a lot of rain so hopefully yesterday's rain will bring on another decent flush.
