I do love the rain!

I good days hunting yesterday, just short of 500g of (fresh) Libs.

Most found above 240 meters and the rain made them extremely hard to spot.

For those who wonder whether to pick the small ones or to leave them to get bigger.  In the case of these mushrooms small is better as they have a higher consentration of psilocybin. As soon as the cap is open thousands of spores are dropped. If you remember to use a net bag (I use the ones, you get at the supermarket Lidl or Aldi to put your veg in) you will be dropping spores wherever you walk.

Happy hunting.

Headed north for a few days away near the borders. Took a day out to walk a section of the wall

Was a nice day out , just missed a few down pours but could tell they'd had plenty rain over the last few weeks. Left the car park and no more than 25m through the first gate I knew it was going to be a good day

Only picked a handful and consumed to enjoy the walk. Once consumed I was spotting Libs everywhere, be heading back in a 2 weeks time to go hunting rather than walking. Till then I still have a few Shrooms tucked away for a rainy day.  Take care and Happy hunting

Gotta love the rain this time of year!

500! Very Decent find. Just out of interest how many hours does it take you for that hunt?

Interesting you say about small libs having more psilocybin, didn't know that and good idea about the mesh bag, however 'pins' themselves should be left until the cap opens right? Even if they do have
psilocybin?

The season is well truly begun out there as long as you know where to look folks.

Id recommend if you've got a spot that's over 400m then take a look. Found a lot today.

Hey guys, used to lurk on the UK liberty thread a few years back and was so helpful in teaching me! Thought it best to make a profile this year and not be such a fly on the wall  haven't been able to get out at all over the last few years but circumstances have changed and live futher north than before, right back on the hunt now! :smirk:

So after it feeling a bit colder and more shroomy over the last week been itching to get out so Saturday night planned a spontaneous trip up some moors for Sunday morning.

Spent the day out with pooch and made some nice finds! Think it still needs a couple of weeks for the big flushes but still a fair few about  They aren't abundant right now because still too warm but in areas shaded by long grass where it stays wet creates a kind of microclimate. It did take some searching though...Wet knees when I left haha.

Hope you're all having luck out there! Here's some pics from today

Happy hunting!

Brecon Beacons? [Re: Azure27]
    #27946950 -

Just moved to the South West so I'm looking for new lib hunting spots! Has anyone found anything in the Brecon Beacons or the Mendips yet this year? Are they generally good spots to look? I have leave coming up over the next few weeks so looking forward to some long walks hunting them out!!

First find of Northumberland this season!

Quick question: I currently have these laid out on a piece of paper in a cupboard with a fan blasting onto them from a slight distance - Will this ruin/rot them? I don't want them going off, but I have no other idea how to dry them

I dry them by putting them on white paper, on a baking tray and sit on top of my kitchen water boiler which basically just blasts them with hot air. Cracker dry within hours and never had any problems with them, or potency. My ones from last year are still very strong

Hi im new to the forum and to mushrooms in general, I tried them for the first time last week and loved it, it was 1.5 grams I took and I just felt really happy and hit them giggles a few times. They were pink buffalo's grown indoors by a freind. I'm goiny go for a walk and try and pick some liberty caps for the first time today. Is there any chance of finding any even though its not rained here for the past 2 days? I'm in Renfrewshire in Scotland. Wish me luck

I picked some in Scotland yesterday. They were in wet marshy sheep pasture.
