(To mods: If this needs to be moved to General Questions then please do so, I don't know if this should go under Mushroom Hunting or General Questions)
I currently live in SW Tennessee. It has been at least 90 degrees Farenheit everyday since I've gotten here, and very high humidity. It has just rained from about 1:30pm until 7:00pm. Since it will be hot and humid tomorrow, will it be a good day fot mushroom hunting? Or should I wait until the day after tomorrow? I'm just asking for opinions. I live pretty much around cow pastures in every direction. The nearest one is about 3 miles away. Then there is one about 5 1/2 miles away. That one has A LOT of cows (maybe 60). The 3 mile away one has about 20 cows. Thank you
I doubt you will find any actives in cow fields in tennessee.(assuming you are looking for actives). But maybe, the only way to find out is to get out the and hunt. Depending on how hard and long it rained you might want to wait till tommorow but unless it was raining goats and chickens you should go tonight.
What are the temps and humidity like at nighttime?
3. Do not ask if the current weather is "good for shrooms." These threads are flat out annoying, and will be locked. This information can easily be found with a little bit of research.
As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 2-3 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, then *yes* it is possible that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.
Woulda moved it to GQ, but I don't think they could help ya any more. Just go look.
