Thomas Seyfried and his metabolic model on Cancer
    #27881257 - 07/29/22 01:42 AM (1 year, 5 months ago)

Check out lectures of Seyfried YouTube. He studied all of Otto Warburg's work on cancer and ran with it. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for his work on Cancer. Warburg discovered Cancer loved sugars and couldn't survive in oxygen rich enviorments. I bought his book which goes into depth and the summary which I pass onto to others to read because it's much easier to wrap your head around.

In a nutshell, Seyfried claims well over 90% of all cancers are really metabolic, not genetic in nature. The cells mitochondria become dysfunctional and cease to produce ATP. They begin fermenting sugars instead. The thing is, mitochodrial function can be restored with a ketogenic diet and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. His work is heavily censored on PubMed and the AMA and FDA refuse to allow him to perform human studies despite multiple applications to do so...

Quite serendipitous I choose today of all the days I've been on here to search cancer.

Those are the same book, just the first link is a 1st edition, and the second is a mass produced version, with some additional texts - Correct?

My Mother has a friend that has had her first round of chemo, and isn't liking how she's being treated by most of her doctors, and is doing alternative stuff already. Some of it sounds fine, like with turmeric, other stuff I hope she didn't get sounded like snake oil.

Thanks for posting!

You're very welcome. The second book is a well written summary of the original text. The original text is very heavy reading. You can digest it but it was written for other professionals in the field.

It really makes tremendous sense. His results with lab animals is mind blowing. When you watch lectures he's giving on YouTube you're able to quickly wrap your head around what he's saying. It isn't effective for all cancers but it is effective for most of them.

Your friend can seek out businesses that offer hyperbaric treatments and work out a deal.  One other thing you need to consider though. Cancers consume glutamine as an energy source also. Glutamine is a critical amino acid needed to complete a number of biological functions. Your friend needs to try to cut back on glutamine containing foods, not entirely though.

A ketogenic diet switches the body over to using ketones instead of glucose as an energy source. Our brains and bodies love ketones. It's a more efficient fuel. Have her check out Dr Eric Berg on YouTube. He's been on a well balanced keto diet for years and has a heath group of over 2 million people who follow him. He provides tons of information on how to do it right. You're doing two things when you go keto under these circumstances. You're starving cancer while restoring correct metabolic function.

What's wild is the body has this innate ability to heal itself when you give it the proper tools to do so. Intermittent fasting while on a keto diet is a one two punch also but have her start off focusing on a solid keto plan first.

I wish you and your friend the very best.

Thank you

I figured out that bit about the books. I am considering purchasing the original text as well. Not a medical professional, but I'm pretty sure I can get through it better than most non medical folk.

I've actually done keto before, and put a fair amount of research into it at that time.. none related to cancer, but it's nice to see that keto is standing up well to the test of time. I think it's time to move back to it, and get some family on it too.

I'll have to research the glutamine foods. I know she's doing no/much less sugar, so that's a step in the keto direction already.

I apologize for not responding sooner... I've been all caught up in several projects, work and life. Consider reaching out to Seyfried. From what I understand, he's a nice guy. He may offer some guidance. Keep in mind, the protocol is effective for metabolic cancers, If I remember correctly 92% of all cancers are metabolic issues,. I wish you and your friend the very best brother. Please keep me posted if you decide to pursue this.
