yea definitely not before work
plus i don't eat before or during work so i guess you could call it fasting might helped it hit a little harder heh
looking good and creepy bird! I wanna try some at higher temps in my plant tent….do i need to make the sub differently or adjust humidity someway? seems like it would be evaporating faster, the sub I have in the closet gets fairly warm by itself, when i open the lid for a peak i get hit in the face, i imagine its about as warm and steamy as a fart would be but ordorless

I honestly don't know. I just kind of tore up my tub after 6-7 flushes when trich showed up, and put pieces of it outside between straw layers in the garden to see what would happen. It's been pretty steady in the 90s/100s and under 20% humidity outside in the daytime where I live the last two weeks, so I've been watering it daily...but that's it.

The weather here has been stormy a lot this month, storms and change in barometric pressure trigger my clusterheadaches... i microdose 250mg cubensis thru the week and most weeks lately i been doing a recreational dose of nats on the weekend, this weekend time was not permitting and this morning i woke to a lil clusterheadache complete with nausea fun... after a trip to the store with the fam to prepare for upcoming camping trip i came home and took 120mg dried nats. 30 minutes later headache gone along with nausea and loving it.

So my nat jars are colonizing. I started with thin wispy mycelium on agar, but it’s growing out in the grain.
I really want to get these colonized as fast as I can. I want to try these mushrooms badly.
Should I shake these now or let them go a little longer? This is my first nat grow and I’m unsure what will get me to my goal the fastest.

I would’ve shaked a few days ago, you might only need one shake at this point
I think you will not be disappointed in the nats…gave a bite to a friend and we both were in great moods!

I have a large circle of close friends and family who are all interested in mushrooms. They’ve seen the transformations I’ve had, and they want in on the healing. I’ve given the more introspective ones some cubes and they’ve had some great progress, but some of them, who are less experienced in doing deep personal work, I thought I’d ease them in with nats. Everyone is excited and can’t wait for these. Especially me.

that’s awesome! I think cubes will still have their place for those more deep dives into introspection and spiritual journey but for me nat is what I’ve been needing!
good luck man, i’d be interested to hear how it all goes for everyone
edit: I wanted to mention my best producing tub came from a plate pin culture, and all of my nat plates produced pins eventually, so if you still have the plates you nocced from, keep em around and try a pin culture

Unfortunately I tossed a bunch of plates that were probably all good.
The germination and transfers looked terrible on my agar recipe, but took off on grain when I decided to try one to see what would happen. I’ll be starting new agar with a new recipe soon. Hopefully this week. If I get better performance in the next batch of agar, I’ll definitely try for some plate pins.
BTW, what are people getting for dried yield per quart of nat mycelium? Not looking for the highest yields, but something a relative noob might expect.
My first cube grow was 1.25 dried ounces per quart. I’ve only done one grow and 10 quarts.

I'm trying these in XLS-A fruiting bags and all I'm getting a huge amount of overlay on top and sidepins. Out of 5 bags, I have 1 mushroom growing on the surface and the cap is trying to go downward. Wtf is going on.

Not enough FAE in the bag. Try adding lots of needle holes just above the sub.

Thanks. I just cut the bag right under the filter patch. Let's see what happens.

I poured 20 plates of 8/8/500 MEA a few days ago. Lost one quickly to contam of some sort but streaked 4 with one of the Ps.Nat swabs I received. Only 1 of the 4 are showing anything at all. Crappy phone pic below, of what I hope is mycelium.

That’s the stuff right there.
I would prob grab a transfer and just put it on the same plate near the other side.

Looks like my nat jars are recovering from the shake! Yay!
I think I’m gonna get some nats.
