Appreciate the cooking pics. Never cooked eggplant like that. Is it from your garden?
And yeah pinks got an odor, they get really stinky as they sit in your fridge. I kinda feel like they have some symbiotic relationship with bacteria and start breaking down quickly, something like coprinus species, I'm only guessing.

Yes sir! All from garden, except the rice, olives and onion! Glad you like the cooking addition. Figured I might as well document the mushrooms demise too!
These eggplants come out quite small, look like little purple tear drops:

One of my Blue Oysters sawdust/bran logs has started pinning in 1 of the 3 holes.

I have 2 bags that have been chewed up by racoons or a groundhog in the little hole i sliced...
Should I tape the holes again? They don't seem to be recovering, and it's been 3 days.

This morning:

This afternoon (10hrs):

Wonder what kind of results I'll get this time, they look different than the pink oysters at this stage, making me wonder whether they have enough fresh air? The bin is outside and the lid is open 1/4 through.

They'll probably want more fresh air, maybe ditch the lid altogether since you can mist so frequently. I would mist the tubs and the blocks but not the fruits so much. But they look good

It's so fun to grow and eat these.

All in all, great experience, surprised I was able to get a decent yield.
Next thread will be a more challenging species to grow.
Thanks to all those who stopped by, and also to those that commented and helped me out.
Till next time!

Nicely done. Is this your first time growing mushrooms? Look like a pro already. I would recommend trying some lions mane next.

Grew some actives a few years ago, had a bunch of gear and knowledge from that era that I put to good use on this grow.
Lions Mane was definitely on my list and will probably be the next grow once I'm set up properly with a Grow Tent. However, I will be on the high end temperature wise... 21C. Maybe this winter I can duct some air from the outdoor and have a fan on a thermostat to keep below those temps. Will figure that out once I get there.
I saw your Lions Mane grows, and I have to say they look spectacular!

Wow, those are some decent sized flushes, especially for pinks! I never get pinks to grow that large. Nice work!

Cool grow I've been looking for a good way to do a small gourmet/edible grow without setting up a Martha right away. I may just have to try the method you used.. what were your outdoor temps like?

Hi there! My outdoor temps were between 15-20 at night, 20-28 in the day.
The bins worked to keep the rodents and bugs/slugs away. I forgot some bags in there and came back to some nice flushes of blues.
My best results were when I put them in open air when pins appeared, propped up on an upside down flower pot, in the shade and misted them every few hours in the day.
