Anybody else tired of all the custom made hot sauces trying to be your asshole's worst enemy?
Fuck'em all. Hot sauces need to be remarketed
I have red hot romance on the menu. Romantically spicy.

I'm not a big fan of the wave of 11/10 heat sauces all at primo prices. People are mad for the stuff though. I wish there was even more in fact, competition would drive the prices down and force innovation.

Playing with dopamine when you get in deep with the sauce man, is capsaicin addictive? I think it's at least habit forming.

Just grow your own high level peppers... it's pretty easy
I traded some Jamaican lady some tomato plants for all my rare peppers, but she grew them from seed... so yeah.
The problem is that peppers are open pollinated so from seed from second generation could give you some wacky strain

Oh yes, totally. once you get into it it sure as hell is addicting.
The hard part is getting through the initial pain first though.. THAT always sucks.
I'm in bad shape right now I let my tolerance go down.
The butthole pain just ain't right sometimes lol but that also brings dopamine as well. Talk about a pain in the ass lol.

I suspect it is mildly addictive. I've been eating the stuff daily for decades. Nothing else has stuck with me like that.

I've been growing them and making sauces a long time. But I do enjoy bought sauces as well. There's like a million ways to make chilli sauce and so many tricks to get the flavour just so. It's not like ketchup.
I like YouTube channels that do sauces as well. There's this South African guy who lives in the UK who has a channel called ChilliChump. He's pretty awesome, so much skills and knowledge on the topic.

Found this gem at Sams yesterday - $14. Sometimes they get the most random stuff in. I tried all 6 bottles with my brothers. They were all delicious. I had a stomach ache later

Heatwise it’s was tolerable. I wasn’t sure if the last two would be unbearably hot or something but they didn’t go that way.
Only reason I got a stomach ache was from mixing a bunch, though I’d think a lot of scorpion could potentially do the same.

Seems like a good idea not to eat so much it causes a critical meltdown in your stomach.
Though I've done the same and worse. Sat on the toilet the next day crying.

I'm in my early thirties now and I cannot handle as much hot sauce as I used to. The initial heat while eating is fine, but my digestive system gets absolutely wrecked now if I overdo it, with severe heartburn that is quite unpleasant and even debilitating. I noticed my dad really doesn't like the spice he used to like as he has aged. He introduced me to Tobasco when I was little but he probably hasn't bought any in 10 years. He keeps a bottle of Louisiana in his fridge and he puts pickled jalapeños in his meatloaf, that's about as hot as he eats anything now.
I used to eat hot sauce with most meals but now I'm using hot sauce on food about twice a week.
Melinda's is good, I use their ghost pepper wing sauce as a base for when I do wings sometimes. I mix other hot sauces with it, often it's Dave's ghost pepper. Firehouse Subs carries Melinda's and Dave's, I should go there for lunch sometime this week.
I have had 2 of the Paqui's One Chip Challenge chips for over a year now because I can't find anyone to eat them with me for a laugh. I might just eat both at once.
Has anyone tried any of The Last Dab sauces from Hot Ones? I watch the show and have since it started, but still haven't tried any of their stuff. I think they're about 20 bucks a bottle I just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I had do a run of pantoprazole to treat gasto refulux. I ate spicy stuff non stop for a long time then about a year ago anytime I ate something spicy I would end up throwing it up. I could eat the whole meal but then like a half hour later start barfing. So I stopped eating a lot of spicy stuff and that helps for a while, but then later the vomiting actually got worse. I was throwing up like three days a week. So I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with severe acid reflux and put on panoprazole for a while. The problem is completely solved and I can eat pretty much whatever I want again. If you heartburn is bad, you should go to the doctor. They can probably get you fixed up pretty quickly. Even over the counter Prilosec might get you back on track.
I have a bunch of the Hot Ones sauces including Apollo. Apollo is great for cooking but it is too hot to eat in any meaningful way, IMO. I can put some a chip and eat it, but the flavor isn't amazing, it's tolerable, but I don't know why anybody would really want to eat it straight. Their Los Calientes original is the best taco sauce I have ever had. It goes so perfectly with a taco.

LOL, I see that one can score a pack of 10 of those chips for $8 at the moment on Amazon, and while I was initially intrigued, after reading the reviews, I'm definitely not interested in willfully exposing myself to that level of apparent pain.

Over on the far right, got gifted it from a friend and it's actually got a really nice flavor. It's got a pretty high heat level but it's not just stupid hot, although for that reason, I often end up going overboard because I like the taste enough to compel me to eat more of it than I probably should. Fortunately I have no issues with reflux, but if I'm drinking heavy and eat a bunch of hot sauce and/or fatty food, I will be having multiple spicy butt rounds on the porcelain throne to be sure.

I did the original chip when it first came out and it had me pacing around. I certainly was not able to do the challenge.. to sit and eat it straight faced on camera for 5 minutes. Not happening.

Multiple spicy butt rounds
Ok so Melinda’s always seems to make my stomach hurt. Cept the jalapeño one, that one tastes wonderful.

El Yucateco Xxxhot Habenero is my go to hot sauce. A little goes a long way but there is flavor behind the heat. I had it in a taqueria once and was hooked from the get go.

That triple X is one of the most well rounded hot sauces and nobody even talks about it. It has a ton of flavor but is hot too.

I didn't like the XXXtra hot or the black one all that much. El Yucateco red habanero and green habanero are both very good tasting to me.
I get a local brand called Alabama Sunshine sometimes, their ghost pepper sauce has a good kick but it's not overwhelming as it's first ingredient is Tobasco peppers.

I had this like habanero jam/butter kinda thing once and it was so crazy hot but it was hard not to eat it because it was so sweet n delicious. I failed a local food challenge and the owner gave me a jar on my way out because I came through so often and I basically inhaled the jar. Definitely the tastiest hot anything I've ever had. He had me putting it on like 8lbs of pulled pork poutine
