Some rambling...
    #2786826 - 06/12/04 02:19 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Just thought I'd write some stuff down I wrote tonight in a burned out from staying sober for over a month staying up late from working two jobs late at night haze

In the beginning their was children, and their parents were scared.
The parents did everything themselves for them.

But then the parents were parted from their children because they were scared.
The Television did everything else for them.

Then the children became scared.
The parents provided no comfort for them.

Fear became loneliness, then apathy.
The children were desensitized, and all was good.

The TV execs enjoyed playing god, and filled every head
with electrons.  Redgreenpurpleblue!!! Colors of every hue!
So magnificent, so marvelous, so meaningless.
Men and women lived and died in front of the invention
yet no circumvention from the daily barrage.
People could not, would not find assuage.

Generations of junkies soon followed,
Sugar coated candies, were massively swallowed,
Yet with each bite we felt more hollow.

Then exercise was said to cure all of that,
I mean do you really want to be fat?
Another human harbor held hostage.

Inner peace was soon only found in membership fees.
We needed more bike paths, fuck those trees!
Equipment made us spend money on our new disease.

Then music, an oral tradition was sodomized by replication.
Our expectations always met, consistency the safest bet.
Unique experiences were lost in the wave of Californication.

These are kind of amateurish, but my roomate is an English major, I'll see what he thinks too.  At the very least I think I could use a stanza or two in a song in the future, who knows?  I'm trying out different hobbies since I haven't had time to do much else and the boredom is killing me.

Very good, biglo. I really liked it a lot. You make references without being too specific, and yet get your message across anyways, which is (I think) why people have grown up to have problems with substances and obesity.

That's good, unfortunately because it hits the nail right on the head.

Yeah, TV really sucks. I don't watch it. Neither do my kids (their own choice).
