The Labyrinth is quite similar to The Dark Crystal and was also made by Jim Henson studios. There's also the Dark Crystal prequel TV series on Netflix, unfortunately canceled after one season. I'd say it probably tops the original movie.

The Labyrinth was good. Sorry I don't have any good suggestions but I did just see "Northman" and I liked it.

Yeah Return To Oz sprung to mind for me as well but I didn't get around to posting it. Weird as hell and quite frightening when I saw it as a kid. Willow was another one like this.
I vaguely remember some fast food restaurant having some kind of promotional tie in with Return to Oz when it came out. Maybe Burger King.

Yes it was. I remember action figures from that movie.
I vaguely remember some fast food restaurant having some kind of promotional tie in with Return to Oz when it came out. Maybe Burger King.
I remember this too, though I can't find any info online about that.

I'm going to read it, working on few right now, and I'm a slow reader these days, so it'll be a while till I get to it. I like the movie, but it did seem rushed, like they tried to jam a lot in with not enough time to do it justice.
