Same here. I spawned this tray on 6/5. It's been sitting here at 100% colonization for a good 2 weeks.

5/29 for these. All with top layers at spawn, some compressed at various levels. I am afraid to case them because that is the step where they have failed me every time so far and Fresh Prints does so well without a casing.
I am about to leave town for a week, so I am hoping to return to some magic.

Im running out patience guys...
I have loads of pins but it's been almost a month and no caps have opened. Some pins have brownish stems some are whiter, some heads are more brownish in color and some are more orange...
Is this normal? They pinned relatively fast but the development of the fruiting bodies is so slow that I am considering that I might have just a bunch aborts...

I would keep up the tenacity guys. I'm still new to this species as well and am mostly in the agar stages, but back when I was trying to make progress with Indoor Ovoids, I would routinely keep and manage tubs and shoeboxes for 3-6 months. It's a patience exercise but it's definitely possible, just keep up the work.

Yeah seems to be typical. Exactly how mine went and then once the caps opened it took forever to produce spores.

Sounds about right, mine also take about two and a half forevers to mature and drop spores.

It was so nice to come back to this post and see so much support.
I guess I will have to take this as a lesson in patience.

Someone in this thread mentioned a soak pre first flush. I didn't see pins for 5 weeks, so soaked for 24 hrs, and poof! Pins appeared a few days later.
Just a thought for the people not seeing any growth for a while.

I'm feeling really lucky today, as I managed to get spore prints from my Semperviva!

This morning, when I checked on these beauties, I noticed some spores on the caps. I thought it might have been the Natalensis from above, because I'd red it took ages to get Semperviva to drop spores. But when I looked underneath, to my surprise: spores on the gills!

And this is "only" 23 days after pinning. This jar is simply colonized rye that I cased with pasteurized cactus soil and left in my automated fruited-chamber-converted-fridge.
One thing I do with Semperviva, is that I "soak" them with my mister everyday twice a day - even if the ambient humidity is at 99% in the FC.
Right after I mist, they look like this:

And 30 seconds later, like this:

And they are dropping spores way before being totally curled up.
So I was wondering if the "soaking" twice a day could be why I managed to get them to drop spores without waiting for too long? Or just cheer luck with this clone?
Now, what I'm embarrassed about is that I'm taking spores prints, but I have no fucking clue what I'm doing... I wasn't ready for it!
The FC is at the back of the garden, in a shed. I got the aluminium from the kitchen, placed it in a shoebox, went to the FC, cut my mushrooms caps with scissors (wiped with alcohol), but used bare hands to place them on the foil. Put one drop of water on these caps, and placed a shot glass on top of each. The print above is after 12 hours.
Will my prints be too dirty to use? I'm planning on giving them away here.

Congrats!! You can use a needle to put them on the foil to avoid touching the caps too much, and printing in a Plastic box upside down or a Pyrex plate upside down too for multiple prints if you printing just one or small caps glass pétri dishes also are nice..

Needles are great for handling caps. I use a small syringe with a needle. I think you may be right about the misting. I did that once and had no trouble getting spores from that grow. Nice to see this thread still going on.

Thanks!
nosf3r4tu, it's great to see you here, it's been a while! I'm so grateful to you. It's thanks to your salt tip few months ago that I managed to get a flush from an EZD. This clone giving me spores, comes from it!
I followed mycorry's advice to recase after the first flush, but I think I should have recased everything! I mean look at where the second flush is growing from: all the recased patches. And it looks like a heavy flush too!

I was harvesting this jar, and taking more prints:

When I noticed some blue liquid in it (this is just a jar of rye that I cased with cactus soil). I don't know why but remembered about Nichrome's comment with Semperviva and Ultraviolet lights. So I fetched one and here's the "before & after":

One more:

This species is soooo cool
Nichrome, do you know what is reacting to the UV lights in this jar?

I think I remember him saying it was the MAOIs.

Well apparently mine actually do glow like that. It's much more clear in photos, with the naked eye it's a faint green glow
