Placing the pump inside will not circulate FRESH air, which is what you want to dissipate the co2.
If you feel you need to use a pump, try the tek carmex wrote about.

On your pump.... instead of messing with tupperware, just tape a filter patch or a hepa vaccuum cleaner bag over the hole on the bottom, and run silicone around the edge to seal it.
If you are using pf cakes, then this isn't really even neccesary (the filtration).
