First of all, I'm a little concerned about you being cave dwellers. The last cave dwellers I met all got suffocated and burned alive.
Have you considered installing some professional A/C?

What's in the middle? The white stuff. The first one was a hot one, the second was a gas; soon I finished off my sack, ate it up real fast. You can smell it on my jeans, taste it when I talk, spit out of your coffee and think of it on a walk I love the white stuff, baby, government with me everywhere I GO!

aside from secret jokes, that aren't very good, you should consider maybe visiting the national parks; and taking part in whatever's good about them! If you're healthy, don't limit yourself to things you think you'd like.

There's a cheap cultural museum about some culture you'd never fit into? Go check it out, maybe talk to some people who look like the people who run the weird culture museum about things you saw.  Maybe you CAN fit into a culture of over fed, wild haired, leaping gnomes, and be the star of a Hollywood movie.....

Respectfully,
XX9

Shark attacks on surfers are pretty rare but they do happen. Depends on the area, weather conditions and the surf spot. Surfing is somewhat dangerous even without shark attacks. I would be more concerned about crashing on rocks/going over the falls. It takes a lot of upper-body strength and endurance. Its rough. I wouldnt quite recommend it unless you are really adventurous and athletic.

Kite boarding is a good choice, but again, sorta dangerous. Paddleboarding is a good choice, sorta expensive thou.

Mountain biking is a great choice. Not very expensive and lots of trails out there. But if she wants only electric bikes, forget it.

I would suggest hiking. Lots of hiking trails and all you really need is nice hiking shoes, a daypack, an insulated water bottle, and good sense of direction and you are good to go! Another good choice is Birding (aka bird watching). Birding is like hiking, except you are specifically seeking out wild birds to watch with binoculars or just your bare eyes. Its fun and you learn about wild birds too.

Bouldering might be a good choice too. Its like mini-rock climbing and is great for beginners.

I swim in great white waters for money. I have zero worry, neither should you. I swam in bull shark infested waters, shooed them out of the way to work. No worries about them. Swam bloody bait out to bull shark areas to catch them, no worries. They aren't interested in people, they know what they want and it ain't us.

The exceedingly rare attacks are are just that, exceedingly rare and not anything to even consider. Deer kill people, I'm not worried about them when I go into the woods.

A free hobby like hiking is great. It's free. Mountain bikes can be be cheap, just keep using a cheap bike until you are certain that it's 100% the bike holing you back from enjoyment.  Bikes can get crazy expensive if you think that you need them to be the "best" for what you're doing. I'm no pro, so my cheap bike is great for anything I do. A better gear ratio can help with uphills, better shocks can help...etc.... but I'm still doing just fine.

I don't know anything about shark attacks, but I second everybody's suggestion to take up hiking if you are looking for something cost effective.

I enjoy leisurely walks around my neighborhood too; sometimes I bring sidewalk chalk and leave little notes complimenting people's gardens in the summertime. "Nice Peonies!"

Scavenger hunts are fun too. You can make a list with certain things to find, such as "a man riding a bike" "tiger lilies" "2 dogs" "1 cat". You get the picture. This is also a fun thing to do for cemetery walks, only you're looking for certain things on headstones. Find and old one, a man named John, 2 couple's plots, etc.

Would your girl be open to regular street biking without electric bikes? You could convince her to take casual bike rides around town and then hit some more difficult trails when you guys get bored of riding around the neighborhood.

I recently got a kayak and that is a very fun hobby, but I am on an inland lake, not the ocean, so I'm not sure if it would be a viable or affordable hobby for your situation.

Roller skating / roller blading is also a really fun hobby that gets you outside.

Rock climbing and art did it for me.  Climbing is cool because it's you against yourself and it's probably the most fun you can have working out.  It's a physical math problem.

Stamp collecting is a great hobby.  Knowing what to look for is the key.
