My first nat flush! They're a little small, but there's a few in there at least. I'm going to leave them just a little longer before picking I think.

Nice tub hummingbird! I had a culture that produced these spaghetti fruits with bumpy stipe too. Mine were super potent. Next flush might produce bigger fruits.

Thanks guys, I'm excited to try these! They seem like they could be pretty potent.
I have a different nat culture on grains right now too. It will be interesting to see what comes from that one.

those caps looks like some rw I grew way back when, the caps never opened and they became more elongated down the stem as they grew, I named them white socks
My first attempt at nat clone on this tall skinny guy that was among the green snakes….could have been environmental factor tho since he was in the corner of the box with the most fae

Also another shoobox with the most cube lookin nats for me yet…I have it in a water tub in my grow tent, much warmer and more circulation due to the fan being on in there

If those are leucistic or albino, they must be cloned!
A little early to call it a definite success, but my ape pheno project is looking pretty solid so far.

I was under the impression that we cannot say yet for sure whether its a genetic trait or a reaction to the environment?

There are some clear phenotypes at play here imo, my Nats are drastically different.

For sure you are right. i was referring to the slim stemmed and often called "Snakey" phenomenon. also these tend to "lay down" which could be related to lack of air exchange. as some cultivators wrote about before, thicker and more upright growth occurred once air exchange was increased.

That snake tub yielded just under 2.5 ounces dry(65g) for the first flush...not bad for 3qt spawn, I 've done worse with cubes before. It was a lot of work to pick and clean the tangled mess of silver snakes for sure. I took prints from the thicker stemmed fruits to share, some will be nice and dark I think.
I think it's more of a phenotype thing with the looks. I gave them a lot of FAE especially towards the end, when I was leaving the tub lid open by turning it sideways a little. I grew theses just like I do cubes, although they seemed to need a little more misting than most of my cube tubs do to keep surface conditions good.
Anyways, I'm excited to try these for sure. Dried up they look a lot like pans to me, there's shade of silver, blue, greenish, and a little purple from the spores. They have a really beautiful and magic glow to them that's hard to describe. Definitely going to be working with this species more.

My best 2 of 8 plates updated with today. Shown on table and on light box.
Also, I inoculated a bunch more plates today from MSS. I am determined to get some good Natalensis mycelium growing.
Any thoughts on these 2 plates?
On the light box the halos around what looks like the germination plate are a lot harder to see in the photos. Much easier in person. These probably aren’t helpful.

My pins blew up overnight.
So stoked to finally have a uniform phenotype. Now to take spores and start all over again
