Found my first Psilocybe semilanceata yesterday in the northern Wairarapa near a smallish river amongst the damp grass which cows had been grazing in the weeks prior. Wasn't actually looking but happened to look down and thought hmmm those look suspicious. Didn't have time to look for more but never the less very very interesting!! They were obviously older and by the evening had sorta dried out in their own accord.
I had them with some old and fairly average looking Weraroa last night and it was ok but underwhelming and left me disappointed, so i have a couple of questions for yahs! Took 15 - 20 grams fresh about 10 days ago which was amazing and then again the following night which was still amazing, all large weraroa too. Anyway so i was like cool, ill do 30 grams last night because i was so comfortable with the 15 but it was very underwhelming, sure it was interesting but the visuals weren't there nor the euphoria. Could this be because it was too soon between trips or could it have been from the weak and a bit crap weraroa, which were all small? I have got more weraroa, much healthier and juciy including a couple of nice sized ones so would it be reasonable to try again or would you advise waiting? The only difference between this trip is that the past two times id smoked some bud for enhancement and nausea. This time i didn't smoke because i wanted to experience the mushroom by itself but didn't get "there". Yall know what i mean . Im just egar to explore what the mushrooms bring out.
Cheers! Also some nice weraroa finds lately

Yeah tripping on consecutive days is going to build tolerance really quickly. I'd suggest at least a few weeks between trips. .... but I'm not ya mum ofcourse.. Smoking cannabis will enhance the trip quite a bit, sometimes in a good way.

Doesn't it ever? To add some anecdotal evidence: I used to smoke cannabis post-peak on LSD and Psilocybin trips as the 'afterglow' was beginning and was surprised how readily it kicked things back in to gear, sometimes feeling stronger than the trip itself. Could get another hour or so of intense tripping from the dose. Never tried this during trip peaks as I felt it wasn't necessary.

Yeah i loved it, it really made everything come alive. It was also quite a peaceful feeling and it doesn't even take much to ramp it up

That’s fuckin amazing Sam! They look epic dude, keen to see more pop up and your Tek breakdown. Bro. Respect. One of the coolest things I’ve seen on Shroomery period.

Just checked a very public spot (that's why no pic in situ) and managed to grab a few. Nice to see a few pins coming up to check on over next couple of days.
This is my first ever hunting season. Not the greatest success but learning I think.

No special tek doland, just some stembutts that still had a few chips attached that I had in the tubs for a month or so with some damp tissue. Was going to be adding chips to expand but while I was waiting for my chips to ferment this happened.. Nice finds Seuafai.

Can I ask....what do you mean by waiting for the chips to ferment, and any particular chips you are using?

fermenting woodchip is just fully submerging it in water for a while, like 2-4 weeks. It gets rid of competing fungi hopefully. I'm using pine, but id rather something else...

Trying out your technique, seems to be working.

found a new seco spot in a nice location, pretty happy about that.
pet shrooms just before they got the chop, another pin coming through in another tub, and some mycelium enjoying a bit of mahoe

Hey guys, can you help me please? These are all dry, but the one in the first picture I'm a bit worried about because it took longer to dry and a spot on the cap turned darker, not sure if bruising or not. I lost a haul last year to rot, should I chuck it if I'm not sure? I think the rest are fine but can anyone tell me why mushrooms get even more munched or small as they dry.. So the bugs seriously eat them until the mushroom dries completely?
Struggling to balance mushroom hunting with work, being busy and my other hobbies.
