Off all psyche meds for a while now. Nervous system feels raw. Only ever sleep about half the night.
Up today feeling low, remember mushroom powder. Take half tsp. Go to back step to get some sun. Hear digging. Strange to hear considering it sounds from within the property.
Forgot about having taken the powder, I became curious enough to risk meeting a person. Found some sweaty fellows digging and their dirt pile had buried a young plant my old lady had planted in that spot. We couldn't speak each other's language well enough to do anything but basic communication. I learned they were digging a hole.
There was no truck or anything nearby at the time. They had used a metal ladder to climb the fence and gain access to the property. I started to feel the situation wasn't normal. Have weird thoughts about telling them to leave. Think about stealing their shovels and hiding them while they are on the other side of the fence. Fear of unknown consequences keeps me from doing anything like that.
I feel violated. Quickly cut down all marijuanas and take them inside. Call the city to find out what's up. They can't help me. They think it is contractor doing Internet or something.
Wake the old lady for work and tell her contractors killed one of her plants. She is excited by the Internet. I guess I forgive her. She goes outside to see hole and sleepwalks right through row of poppies and knocks three down. Find hefe and he is giving us his card to call him if plant is fucked. I'm pretty sure I was scowling the whole time. He tells us he tried the bell and asked the neighbors. This made me fucking furious. You talked to the neighbors about me?! Something told me not to say this.
Back inside I attacked a chair.
There is a feral cat in a cage in the unused bathroom at the end of the hall. He is apparently terrifying for a cat, mine do not approach that hall. He lost his testicles recently and we planned on releasing him after a day but they found he is jaundiced. Liver failure they thought. He is so skinny and afraid, I don't know what to do with him. I hope he isn't suffering too bad. I feel so sad for that miserable little fucker.
A beautiful old tree was murdered in my neighborhood recently. Several actually. I hope it isn't a trend. The most recent was probably 80 year old. Usually it happen when house change hand, not this time. Purpose slowly became apparent. Three small frames are erected and metal panels are attached. Three ugly as shit trendy goddamned metal paneled raised beds. They are pretty short also. Why couldn't they go in the backyard? Poor old tree.
This has been therapeutic I think. Thanks shroomery

It’s been fucking tree-genocide this summer where I live. Beautiful oaks. Maples. It’s fucking psychopathic.

Yeah man, I really dislike how people treat trees as an item. "Can't we cut it down? I would get 30 minutes more sunshine on my veranda." "Can't we cut it down? It litters the whole place with leaves!". People should show some respect!

The village just chopped down a beautiful maple behind my fence in the easement and aren't going to replace it. I'm fucking pissed.

Humans are pretty fucking stupid and don't know shit about keeping their planet that they live on in harmony.
You're actually NOT supposed to get rid of the dead leaves on the ground. The dead leaves are supposed to pile up, create compost, and act as nutrients for the plant in the long run.
These stupid humans who think they need to clean up their whole yards are stupid. All humans care about is exploiting their surroundings for their own benefit.

That's EXACTLY what I keep telling them! I mean the composting part of leaves... It doesn't just provide nutrients, it provides food and homes for all these little beings (which according to people who lost connection to nature are so "yucky").

Don’t worry. Humans won’t be around for relatively much longer.

I remember reading an article by some ecologist several year ago. I believe it was on the subject of bees. Says best thing you can do is stop taking care of your yard. Good for bee but also for many other things.
I took this to heart and let my backyard go. I imagine it looks terrible to a normal person. I think of big trouble in little china, the scene where they walk into egg shen's warehouse. "This place looks like a dump." "Yeah, to western eyes."

You do need to be vigilant for rodents though and other varmen. They like to make nests in tall grass.

The area is silly with stray cats. I've also witnessed foxes in the yard a few times.
I haven't had any mice signs in the house since I've lived here but I have three inside cats.
The downside for me has mostly been the increase in biting insects. We get O'brians in the house sometimes. Opossums I mean hehe.

I don't mind rodents as long as they stay in the compost heap and won't come into the house.
I mostly allow things to grow and enjoy all little creatures finding food and homes. Below you can see part of my garden. It might look chaotic to some, but there’s order in the chaos. It's a little eco system and a sanctuary.

People are always chopping down trees for no reason, especially when they first move in. I get that sometimes people might have issues with sewer/power lines or foundation issues but this doesn't seem to be the case usually. I seriously wonder if these people are androids.. How could anyone think that a healthy tree is ugly? The saddest one lately was a really nice, vibrant juniper that was sitting innocently in the front yard of my neighbors.. They chopped it down and replaced it with some hideous lawn ornament. The whole neighborhood smelled like sweet conifer for a day. It was a sad goodbye. Meanwhile I've planted nine trees on my lot, and plan for more, so fuk them.

Yeah I see a lot of rich yuppies cutting down important trees. It is really sad. Imagine being so privileged that you can just get a tree cut down. It's not cheap to cut down a tree. Even a cheap tree is like $5k to cut it down by an arborist.

If I had the means I would take the trunks. The lowest trunk section they set out in the road and it was a little smaller than a car. Would have loved to have it in my backyard. I must make friends with weight lifters.
If you see tree work being done in your neighborhood and you have the time/space you can ask them for the chips. Around here they have to pay to dump them if they don't have a place, so they are usually happy to be able to dump them nearby. Great for the yard and keeps the tree removal from being a total loss.

They must be androids I think. Probably not their fault too much, all the readily available info is crap kinda. Use pesticides and fungicides and herbicides on your lawn to keep it looking like hollywood or something.
Glad to hear you are planting though, what kind of trees?

Especially now. Rates have surely risen along with gas prices. They might do well to save all that wood for heat this winter. Things might get real expensive.
