 Does this look like contam or is this normal? I’m a first timer. This is a Shiitake block I got from a kit.

Looks like it should have maybe stayed in the bag longer. Hopefully some more pins show up soon.
Not contaminated looking or anything though.

Thanks for the reply. This bright white wasn’t there when I got the kit it was more dull white, so I wonder if pulling it out of the bag allowed it to brighten back up after a few days.
It looks like there are only two pins on the block. Do they typically pin at different times or does it normally pin all at once?

Well, you want them to pin all at once... But there's still time for more pins to show up. I'd maybe cold shock it though.

Should I wait until after these 2 mushrooms finish growing before I cold shock the block? Also, should I re-soak the block after the cold shock or just straight from the fridge to the fruiting chamber??

It's up to you, they're probably like half grown now so you might wanna wait. I'd definitely soak with the cold shock, if you hold the block under water and give it a little squeeze you can watch the air bubbles come out as they're replaced with water. Otherwise they just kinda float.
