Meditating is a must before every trip. it helps you to clear your mind, and allow yourself to be open to the experience. It seperates the trip from the rest of your daily life. I take mushrooms in a way that is like a ritual, therefore the experience is both more significant and meaningful.It seperates the trip from the rest of my daily life. I first light a candle that is special, and i light it as if i were illuminating my own spirit. The candle stays lit throughout the whole experience. then i will light some sage and cedar mix i bought from a nature store, i put it in a little seashell and then light it and fan the smoke over myself with a feather or card or something and inhale a bit of the smoke. Sage and Cedar help clear negative energies, and it smells somewhat refreshing. then i will either sit quietly and meditate or do some energizing activity like Chakra balancing or aura cleansing. Lastly, i will shake a ratte i made, a few times facing each direction and acklowledging their elemental atributes, and i will do a little dance in a clockwise motion, to seal the space that im tripping in. this always results in positive thoughts and mindset. you can make your own ceremony, or just meditate either way just think positively and try to shoo away negative thought forms or energies. hope this helps.
