Unusual focus

Not sure if this completely belongs here but.. Lately I have acquired a new ability.. I am able to focus my mind but without any kind of object. I've always practiced on focusing on various imagery, my own thought patterns, spiritual themes, etc. This is new. What's interesting about it is that it's a very pleasant experience.. I get a sense of security, independence and hardness when I initiate it. When I use it at maximum concentration it is really profound how hard my mind feels, as if impenetrable and without emotional perturbation, this lasts maybe 15 seconds or so at maximum but has residual effects. It feels almost unnatural but in a very good way. The only background mental imagery I really get from it is just like a black uniformity with perhaps a slight soft triangular shape.
I can maintain this at various levels of intensity for a better portion of the day but it does eventually collapse into distraction.
Does anyone have any experience with something like this? I've never had anything so good and I am thinking about dedicating a good week to constantly shifting back to it as much as possible. I'm not really sure what catalyzed this but I had been doing some work on the Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra and it also seemed to arise shortly after enduring something very negative and mentally taxing.

I can go into very heightened states of concentration and focus when Im doing my Interval fasting. Those are accompanied by inner calmness, a great sense of connection and motivation/happiness. To make this possible I make sure to eat the sufficient calories I need a day in a short time window.

Dude spot on....... This must be what it is because I've been in a serious calorie deficit and working out 2-4 hours a day for about 3.5 weeks. I thought it might have something to do with it but the feeling is so specific. I have been really trying to keep the focus and it's still working pretty well. The emotional quiescence is pretty incredible. I really want to do fasts instead of weeks of low calories but my body immediately eats all my muscle away and it looks horrific because I'm 6'2 and very lanky. I can be 210 benching 225 and people will literally say I look sick and what's wrong with me. Gotta love genetics. But I swear if the mental clarity is even better during fasts then screw what they think, I'll pack 2x brass knuckles in the streets (around here people are drawn to attack you if you show any weakness) and put my friends comments on ignore.

You can achieve the same state of mind without a daily caloric deficit. At the moment Im bulking up my body by taking more calories than my maintenance requirements and still do this interval fasting to have daily periods of heightened focus. At the moment I have all the 2200+ calories in a afternoon/evening 8 hour window of eating. In that way when I wake up in the morning I already have a 10 hour fasting period that I will extend until the late afternoon/evening. I might switch sometimes depending on the situation but the idea is 8 hours eating and 16 hours fasting. This can be further enhanced by manipulating the protein, carbohydrates and fat percentages. Anything at 200-250g carbohydrates a day is a good setting point. The protein and fat is adapted to that amount and your daily nutrient requirements.
