No if you’re shredding to bulk that means you’re adding hydrated coir or coir and verm. Remove dry layer of verm.
I could be mistaken here wait for clarification.. I think you still dunk the cake but skip the roll for sure. Maybe Screwup read this wrong? I could be wrong for sure, wait for someone to call me out or reaffirm my statement.
No need to dunk if you shred to bulk. The substrate will provide the water, just make sure you get it to field capacity.
Shredding to bulk is generally not recommended as it defeats one of the main purposes of PF, which is not spreading bacteria around if it is present.
What you can do is just bury the cakes in coir but leave them whole. Load them into a bit just big enough to hold them all and fill in the gaps with coir. You just want the top to be barley covered, no need to go deep.

You were 100% correct. Remove the dry verm and the hydrated sub provides the water

I keep my grows at 21-29°C. Lower is okay too, but slows things down.

Top fruited a bacterial jar on Saturday. Noticed yesterday the coir casing already had what looked like cobweb mold. Didn’t pasteurize the coir, just got it to field capacity and dumped it in. The coir has been sitting in a ziploc for over a year.
Any idea why it would go bad so damn quick?

Usually what people say is cobweb mold is not cobweb mold. Pics?

I immediately dumped it outside after noticing it. Unfortunately didn’t take a picture. Thin wispy patches growing all along the coir. Had a kinda like chlorine almost smell.

Could I use PF tek lids for grain jars? I plan to use a SFD between the lid and jar as well. I bought some plastic ones but they don't tighten properly.

So I know CUBENSiS translates to bald head or something, but what do the other species names translate to?

Cubensis translates to "from Cuba". It's the "Psilocybe" that translates to bald head.
What other species? Pans? The word "Panaeolus" is Greek for "all variegated".

Yeah that's fine. As long as the size of the holes combined are equivalent to at least a 1/4 inch hole for sufficient GE.
Edit: GE holes are apparently not needed when using a full sfd under a lid.

If you use a SFD between the lid and jar, it’s best not to have any holes. It’s okay if you do, but be careful of drying the top layer of grain.

There’s a few others on here that do this. You can do the math for yourself. The perimeter of a regular 70mm qt jar multipled by the width of the SFD equals an area already in excess of a 1/4in hole. The threads stop some air exchange, but it’s not enough to necesítate a separate hole in the top.

Reddit for anything mushroom related is a joke. It's like yahoo answers bad
Any of the top subreddits are shit. The smaller ones and locality based ones can be okay.
My take of course.
I like the Reddit Mushroom community but of course you guy's here are best but there are good Pepole also.
Edit: guy's is a CO2 Controller nessesary for growing Gourmet Mushrooms?
Not necessary. Just make sure you are getting enough air replacement. I can’t remember if it’s 7x a minute or and hour, but as long as your exhaust pulls from the bottom of the tent, it’ll take spores and co2 with it. I’m assuming you have an intake fan with humid air and an exhaust fan that pulls at the same rate as the other pushes. The way I had mine set up was the intake was on a timer and the exhaust never cut off
I only have a small tent for growing pot 60x60x160cm i change to a bigger tent so the small one i have for other things and thing that i can using it for growing Gourmet it's possible in that area right?
I know how to set up a system for growing pot
Inline Fan for fresh air with a Filter but i don't need to bring humidity high so i don't know how to do it i think i need this combination with Humidifer and a fan take air out right? And what you say a timer for Air out intervall? https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B017UAMZ0K/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?smid=A1MZXMWDS73ECR&psc=1
I plan on setting my tent back up in the next week or so. When I do I’ll walk you through my setup. Until then you can look at this https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27993602</font></font></font>
Hey Cool, then i don't need a CO2 Controller and not a Humidistat Controller just a Exhaust Fan and Humidifier??? That safe me lot of Money sir maybe a small fan inside the tent?
This is the tent i have
I think it's a good start tent and the best think is i already have it and the tubes are well placed inside so no cutting holes etc..
Do you have a idea which exhaust fan for Air intake is recommended? I don't think a big one is needed maybe a PC Fan ore so? And then a Humidifier and a timer right?

Fair enough, just the first I've heard of this. I've had no issues with dry grains and a quarter inch hole myself. Good to know you can run unmodified though.
