Actually, I noticed some wet looking grains that weren't colonized even back when it was at 20% but I thought it was just some condensation. I'm guessing that I'm just not getting all the endospores sprouted and killed but idk. I think the blue you're seeing could be staining from my PC if we're looking at the same thing.
In my opinion, people are really fast to call something bacterial contamination. I personally have had mushed up uncolonized (and heavily overcooked) grains which were "contaminated for sure" by all current knowledge. But when I scooted the spawn "block" up the jar by turning it around, all the uncolonized grains were completely taken up by the myc not even 48 hours later. Did amazing in the tubs and smelled 100% like mushrooms.
Again - in my opinion - people (me too back in the day) often just prep their grains too wet, making the grains mushy and sticking them to the walls of the jar unable to get colonized fully by the mycelium AND increasing condensation. Doesn't mean it's contaminated. I now dry out my rye for 5+ hours instead of just 1 hour and the entire mushed up grains/condensation thing completely disappeared.
EDIT: I must add that grains that are free/loose and wont colonize are suspicious as all hell though.

Yeah I'll give it a go. I had big plans of doing some g2g and trying to do my first mono but I guess I'll just do a few shoe boxes out of these and see what happens.

They've been like that since they were like 95% colonization a few days ago. Noticed a couple wet looking grains. Sounds like you’re soaking your grains before hydrating. Try just hydrating without the soak. If your grain are fermenting, theres byproducts from the bacteria that can inhibit growth. You don’t need to soak grains to germinate endospores. Proper pc venting and times will kill endospores

Scooting the grain column up the jar works really well for bottom grains in iffy jars

Is this really aggressive mycelium or something else? It looks right if not a little fluffy, but it's also growing 10x faster than everything else I did transfers for on the same day.

If it grew 10x faster than everything else, I’m inclined to say it’s mold.

Regarding work in a SAB - do you spray it before putting things inside or after? If you spray it before do you spray the box with soapy water and also separately spray whatever you're putting into it (jars, petri dishes etc) with alcohol outside of the box? And if you spray it after does that not contaminate anything with the contams that inevitably land together with water droplets?
I have also seen people saying they leave their filled petri dishes to cool or dry in the SAB for a day or so. Do you need to spray the inside of the box again in that case since it would obviously dry out by that point and what about the contams like I previously asked in case of spraying the box with things inside?

When I SABbed, I would spray it a bit with soapy water, close it up and wait for air to settle, then carefully load jars etcetera in through the arm holes, along with an 70% iso'd paper towel that I'd use to wipe down lids.
No, don't respray with cooling petris in there. Just close it up.

So just rinse them and then go straight to a boil for 10 to 15 mins?

These aren't PC'able are they? I can't seem to find what they're made of. In order to be PC'able they have to be polyethylene correct?

A good rule of thumb, if it’s crystal clear plastic, it’s not PCable.

This is a first attempt at a clone grow and it seems to be growing more like ms. The source was a piece of tissue pulled out of a fruit and put to agar, a t1 done and then into SSLC. The fruits are growing at very different rates. Does this happen because its contaminated or otherwise?
