It's been almost 3 years since I've done pf tek and I always blamed those lids for ruining those jars. But I just searched around and found 5 threads of people saying the verm layer is good enough.
I still got larvae with a verm layer, but I was definitely wrong here and I'll admit it.

Ok so I put 7 more agar plates to grain today and instead of slicing them up to have a bunch of noc points, I just dumped a big cutout of each agar plate into each grain jar. The problem is, for 2/7 jars, the agar got stuck on the lid/upper wall of the jar when I shook the jars to bury the agar puck. How do I get the agar off the side of the jar and back onto the grains? I have already tried shaking it alot and pounding on the glass with my palm but the agar seems to be stuck on the side like a lamprey on a shark.
If I can't get the puck off the glass, can I leave the jar upside down until it's time to do my first shake, then shake it, then flip it back right side up?
What do y'all do to avoid getting agar stuck on the side of the jar? Just leave it on top of the grain after you drop it in?

So when that happens the pressure fucks the bottom of the pc, slowly and gently in the style of tenacious d. Everyone says "If PC not level, destroy PC before PC destroy you". I think that's an overreaction, because this has happened to probably 10-40% of the people who use PCs, and if this was actually so dangerous I believe we'd see far more concrete evidence than people knowing PCs have been used as bombs and overreacting.
My understanding, however, is that it doesn't fucking matter. It's bad, it can get worse, at some point it becomes a liability. Modern PCs have great safety features and you should be fine. Most people don't give this advice as it seems unsafe, but I believe those people are operating out of an abundance of caution that likely resulted in many people throwing away safe pressure cookers because they don't want that perceived risk.
I'd say check the bottom, both sides any time this happens, ideally don't let it happen again, and embrace your sterility.

I'd say look for reports of shrapnal first. What actually happens isn't the PC explodes because you ran out of water. The contents escape, so hot bullshit flies all around and makes a mess. I never want that to happen, but perhaps once I buy my AA PC, I'll purposefully run my presto dry, outdoors, inside of a tent, and see what happens, setting up a camera and all that.
The reason PCs work as bombs is because evil folk put explosives inside of them and a blasting cap on the cover.

Posts are basically a historical record, deleted posts are deleted history, making things less understandable in the future. That's part of hobbits point, it's that an accurate historical record is useful for the future searchers. Being wrong is fine, no need to delete though. I usually just either strike through my text to indicate I disagree, or do a small edit.

The issue is that if it actually did get warped some amount (unable to be seen by my eye after it cooled down but it was not level while it was hot) that means the aluminum was weakened or stressed in some way right? Then over multiple 15+ PSI runs it could become weak and explode?

I still hate the lids in pf tek because a simple 1/4 inch filter with polyfill would prevent the gnats 100%. Now I'm thinking they can lay eggs through those lids because the cakes shrink sometimes and knock the verm loose.

Yes, but gnats lay eggs into moist soil, not dry minerals.
